CHRONIC PROBLEMS WITH CHARGING PORT
This is my second of the Dura Force Pro phones. I loved my first one. I dropped it down a flight of stairs. It survived the washing machine. I dropped it in puddles. It was invincible! That is until about it's one year anniversary when the charging port got wonky. Some days it would charge normally. Some days the phone would tell me it was charging slowly because I wasn't using the charger it came with (I was) until finally it stopped charging all together. Thinking it was a fluke, I declared myself free from my carrier's payment plans and bought the same phone through Amazon. I purchased it on July 3rd, 2019. Three days ago I got the first "slow charging" message, conveniently just past the 90 day warranty. I purchased a flat wireless charger thinking if I didn't have to plug it in via the charge port it would work. Nope, still getting the slow charge message and now the charger the phone came with will not work at all. Giving it a one star for durability as there is no point in having an indestructible phone you can't charge.

Works an worth the price!
Phone looks an works great. Haven't found anything not working or broken. Still looking to be sure. Battery life was 40% when I opened the package. AC adapter was new branded to the phone. USB cable was new, generic but still works great. Price is awesome compared to new off the shelf. Had to look hard for any cosmetic flaws. Happy to have a 90 day warranty. But I also purchased the asurion 2 year protection plan. Used them in the past on a lot of products. No issues at all with them. ***Update 4 months later. Still works great. I'd recommend using Eco mode to save battery life. Mainly heavy battery drain watching movies and/or video. I did buy a case an screen protector. Even tho it's a durable phone. Bluetooth works great as long as video/music quality is good. Sometimes YouTube has this issue. Can use wireless charger with case. This is not a top spec phone (iPhone /Galaxy ). So don't expect that. Main selling point durability. ***Note renewed is not refurbished. Basically means a used phone. It was cleaned an had basic function tests.

No frills solid phone
I purchased this phone because my plan on keeping my old phone until the battery was essentially a paper weight worked perfectly. The conversion on verizon was just as simple as moving the SIM card over. Data transfer was almost flawless via the transfer app. One thing to consider is ensure your contacts are backed up to the cloud vs just on your phone, otherwise the "New phone who dis?" will be a part of your life. I have dropped this phone, on the ground, in a hot tub and generally treated it poorly. No issues yet. My only real issues are its slow to load apps, and honestly i will trade that for the fact its cheap, and durable.

Worked great for 18 months
I knew there may be an issue with a refurbished phone, so I am not terribly upset. I bought this in October of 2020 and in January of 2022 the battery needed to be replaced. The phone would sporadically restart. A week later it would only stay on if it was plugged in. I replaced it myself and it worked for three more months and started to malfunction again. It is possible the batterie I replaced it with was not an OEM even though the make and model were the same as the one in the phone which is what I used to find a replacement. This would explain the lag when I would pull up an app or even text. After talking to a cell phone repair shop, I determined I would need an OEM, but they said they did not have any and that Kyocera probably does not make them anymore. They make one that should be compatible but there is no guarantee that the same thing will not happen. While it was working it was a great phone. I use Verizon. I wanted a rugged smart phone but didn't want to pay $900 for one of theirs. Even though I have to get another one, this was still cheaper. Also, it didn't go out suddenly, so I was able to get a new batterie and then a new phone before I was completely out of luck. Also, I liked the fact that I could replace the batterie myself relatively easily. Just needed a small screwdriver. I am only out $20 for the batterie, and it bought me 3 more months.
