I love this . I can dim my lighted tree with it and it’s so easy to use

I was skeptical, and at first I thought I was right to be. I was dubious that a mechanical slider dimmer would dim LEDs. But it turns out the first LED lamp I tried it on was made to be dimmable only with its own remote. This dimmer would only turn it on and off. But no matter, I had bought it for some halogen track lights. So I wired up the track lights with this dimmer, and then one of the halogens died. I only had an LED replacement. So I put in the LED, and low and behold....this dimmer actually DID dim the LED. Nicely. So if you want an old school but pretty foolproof wired dimmer that WILL work on dimmable LEDs, get it.

I ordered these dimmers primarily because my nightstands are tall and I’m unable to reach the lamp switch to turn off the lamp when I’m lying in bed. I also have cats and any of you who have cats know that once your cat has settled on top of you you can’t move, so that also kept me from being able to turn out the lamp on my nightstand sometimes 😉. My main goal was to have a switch on the side of my nightstand that would allow me to turn the light off and on while sitting or lying in bed. The bonus I got and hadn’t really thought about was that this converted my one-way lamps to a fully dimmable lamp, which, in my opinion, is even better than a three-way bulb because I have more brightness levels to choose from and I don’t have to buy expensive three-way bulbs. When I first installed it, the bulb wasn’t dimming, but I realized that was because I didn’t have a dimmable bulb in the lamp. Once I swapped the bulb, it worked really well. I’m very very pleased with how this worked out! The attached photos show the control switch, which conveniently fit into the clip I already had on the side of my nightstand, to hold my phone charger cord.

All I can say is this company is awesome! I had what I thoght was a problem with this cord ( turns out the cord was fine and I LOVE it!) they went above and beyound to help me… I’ll be looking for things to buy from this company in the future!!

Tested on a 100W pure incandescent, the dimming range is atrocious, no where near something that could plausibly be called “full range.” Giving it 25% as the minimum is generous, and it is way worse than my 2000W wall dimmer (which is bad as dimmers go, maybe 3-5%, but understandable given the high load capacity). This is by far the worst performing dimmer I’ve ever purchased—I was replacing a ≈15-year-old trailing edge Leviton table top lamp dimmer (plastic projection that controls the switch feature had broken)—that Leviton performed very poorly, too poorly to be used for dim room lighting in my opinion, but still quite a bit better than this. Advertising this as “full range” is exceptionally misleading (I’d say rising to the level of fraud and the listing should be removed from Amazon), and they’re probably relying on most people using LED bulbs and blaming the poor dimming performance on that. Do not buy this junk—they set the minimum threshold to prevent dimming levels that are unstable at the dimmer level, with higher quality parts being able to maintain stable dimming at lower levels. I can only imagine how bad the quality of the internals must be for them to have the threshold set this high. This is a definite return.

So easy to install I could do it myself! I ended up putting a brighter than 40 watt bult in the lamp, then WOW it works great so far! I found an empty plug direct into wall and set it up. It looks like a winner. YAY.

THIS IS SUCH A NO-BRAINER ! SO, SO SIMPLE. JUST PLUG THE LAMP PLUG INTO THIS , THEN PLUG THE NEW PLUG IN TO YOUR WALL PLUG-IN - DONE AND DONE! IT GIVES ME EXACTLY WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR. I CAN TURN THE LAMP ON AND OFF AND DIM IT TO WHATEVER LEVEL I WANT USING THE LITTLE SLIDING LIGHT SWITCH. WE TRIED A CLAPPER AND IT WAS KIND OF CUTE - WITH NO HELP FROM US - IT TURNED ON THE LAMP AS IT WAS GETTING DARK OUTSIDE, BUT ONLY RESPONDED TO CLAPPING SOUNDS IF WE WERE STANDING AND CLAPPING RIGHT CLOSE TO THE TOP OF THE LAMP. THAT DEFEATED THE PURPOSE FOR HAVING IT. I'M REALLY GLAD WE CONTINUED TO SEARCH. THIS IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!

These are perfect for my bedside tables. I have LED bulbs and they dim reasonably well. I've plugged two lamps into the one switch so that I can turn on both sides at once. I'm very happy with these.
