I find the build quality excellent, very strong, fabric is thicker then the last 2 stools I bought that were cheaper. The wheels are closer together then some might realize, this is either an issue being a little less stable, still very stable, just saying less wide is less stable, but on the plus side, some of us hate the way we cant get close to things cause the base is always in the way! Im a tattoo artist, an its super nice to get closer, an not have my back hurts as much cause I gotta lean more, this stool gets up close an I love it!!!! It definitely feels like this one will last a long time too. The base on my last 2 broke after a year or 2. I only spent 5$ more then I did on the last 2!!! An it was worth it

Sturdy and nice looking. Value for the money. P.s. After using it, i fell to the ground. Very unsafe. Can i return it without the original box??

Size: I needed a small stool to get close to my sewing machine desk. Thus has a very small footprint which was what I was looking for. Function: The lift mechanism up and down, and the wheels are very smooth. As a short person the small footrest is a bonus. Assembly: This is very easy to assemble, in under 5 minutes. The wheels must be pushed in with a bit of force but once in, don't seem to be able to come out . As few instructions there were, one instruction was confusing. It said to remove the plastic cap from the main post because it is only a protective shipping piece. Under the loose yellow cap was an orange cap that seemed permanently attached. The instructions seemed to suggest that "a cap" may be removed using a scissors or a pry type tool. I left the tighter orange cap on and assembled the post to the seat. I'll never know if it meant to come off but it works fine this way. Tipping: I'll address the reviews that mention the stool is unsteady. The instructions specifically state with pictures that this stool has to be fully sat on, with no leaning forward or backwards. I could roll it easily in all directions on hard surface. It doesn't do as well on a carpeted surface. But my old office chair has the same issue. And definitely if I try to lean, this will tip or flip. Its just physics. A broader wider base would mitigate this. But I chose the small base. Quality: The foam pad on the seat is thick. The silver paint on the legs is a little rough at spots. The cover that goes over the octopus legs is plastic and not functional. only decorative. I took one point off for the wonky instruction about the plastic cap and the not too smooth paint job.

Given the price, I wasn't expecting an all metal frame, the only plastic on the stool is an optional decorative cover and the handle. It's light and rolls very smoothly on the carpet. While I'm very happy with the metal frame and cylinder, the footrest was a bit rough feeling. My only concern with this stool is that the metal parts are held together with friction. Altogether for the price I didn't expect this level of quality.

Diameter of bottom is so small that any movement in either direction causes the chair to topple over. Feels like riding a unicycle. Would have bought something with wider base

I got this for my wife to use when grooming dogs. It's worked out great so far. It was easy to put together, only took a few minutes. The seat is nice and cushy, but not too soft. Has a decent range of adjustability, she pretty much keeps it in the highest position though. The wheel locks are nice when you need some more stability. No gripes with this stool, it's worked out well.

If you sit on the cushion before assembly, it is comfortable enough for such an inexpensive stool, but once you put the chair together it is quite hard in the center and the sides feel unsupported. It is uncomfortable. It's like sitting on a cheap bicycle seat. The gas canister is inserted into a too-small metal plate, and it pushes up against the bottom of the cushion just in the center. The wheels work well and have a very small radius, which I appreciate. Raising and lowering is not very smooth, and if you go too high/fast it gets stuck. This stool is priced for what it is. I would not recommend it for a working professional or anyone who would need to sit on it for more than a few minutes at a time. Small seat radius means it tucks away easily in a small space, and is best for a petite person. It was very simple to put together, with only 4 screws. It holds together when you pick it up. In fact, I was unable to disassemble it once the gas canister was locked in. It was packaged well enough and arrived quickly.

This is a great little stool! There are many claims of it tipping over, but there is an easy fix- do not lean over! It isn't made for that, if you keep upright the base is stable enough. It is comfortable, it rolls smoothly, and the height adjusts easily. For the price, you cannot go wrong.
