Works great with apm 2.8

I have read that some users have had an issue with this unit. I can say I have had no issues with the gps unit for now. I really like the stand. It is very strong and does not flex or wobble. No vibrations which is what you want for a quadcopter. The stand is much better than the one that comes with the other gps units. The common one that folds up and down. I had this gps stand in the past and did not like it. This one is much better quality.I can get 8-10 satellites in my room. Outside I have had no issues in any gps mode. I did forget to calibrate my gps compass by mistake and my drone crashed, but this was my fault. After fixing everything and calibrating my gps compass. I have had no issues in loiter mode.

Correct Wiring and Information

Got it working for my custom 6' quadcopter. Betaflight only recognizes the GPS module. You will need to use iNAV to recognize both the GPS and MAG modules of the unit. Here is the correct wiring labels:Red: 3.3v or 5vBlack: GroundGPSGreen: TX (connect to RX)Yellow: RX (connect to TX)Magnometer (only works with INAV)White: SDAOrange: SCLYour welcome!! :)

Great GPS module. Solid and sturdy.

This GPS module includes a compass which is great. The mount is metal and protects it really well but is heavy so I won't be using it.I pulled it apart and here are the wire color codes. I haven't finished my build yet but here is what you need to know to get it working.Red: 3.3v (Labeled VCC)Black: GroundYellow: RX (connect to TX1 or TX6 [match with green; whichever is not serial RX])Green: TX (connect to RX or RX6 [whichever is not serial RX])White: SDA (Connect to RX3)Orange: SCL (Connect to TX3)OMNIBUS F4, AIRBOT F4 and ASGARD variants with TX3/RX3 pads/Through Holes, configure them as I2C2 (SCL = TX3 and SDA = RX3). Maybe 6 sats when other M8N got 20

This GPS does not acquire sats well. in the same location, AND indoors, my old M8N would acquire at least 6 sats; outside, about 20. This unit will not get any sats indoors in the same location and maybe 6 sats outdoors in the same location as the old one.

Compass did not work

Compass did not work. Tried using pull up resistors with no luck.

Very touchy on supply voltage

Works great with Omnibus Flip 32 F4 Pro however this unit has 2 modules that don't seem to be engineered to work together. Took me some time to figure out what's going on with it. GPS works great at 5V but Compass wants to work at 2.6VThat said to make it work you need to use separate voltage controller and set power at a medium where GSP and Compass can work. For my unit it is 2.8V. Anything above compass will stop running and anything below GPS will stop running. At 2.8V both work just fine.

Good GPS receiver

Works great, fast lock on GPS Sats. I like the low profile stand and shielding appears to work fine.

Hols solid

Replaced a UBLOX6. GPS is much better. locks solid on loiter mode. Only issue is the compass. I could not get it to calibrate properly with an APM2.8, Jumper was removed. I've read this seems to be an issue with the 2.8 board so I don't think it is this unit causing the problem. I just used the onboard compass and this GPS and my quad is rock solid. Would have given 5 stars if instructions were supplied.
