I had previously installed a different shell and was very disappointed. I decided to get this one because I was tired of the previous one and the screen wasn't even staying up. I just installed the new shell and am very impressed. The instructional video was very helpful and it installed perfectly. The feel of it is amazing and speaks of high quality. The color is beautiful. I already had an IPS screen on mine, so I was happy that it was precut for it. My GBA now feels perfect. I actually have nothing negative to say about this shell.

Amazing shell! Made my old Gameboy look brand new! My only critique is the screws they provide can easily strip. I highly recommend using the original screws of your Gameboy. They're much tougher and don't strip as easily (if at all). Otherwise this shell replacement is amazing and the replacement process was super easy!

I have ordered multiple products from eXtremeRate over the years, and have come to expect a few things from all of their products: a signature ‘soft’ feel, high quality materials, included tools/spare parts, and most of all, STELLAR customer service. My experience with this product was yet another example of why eXtremeRate is the best at what they do. If you want to upgrade your GBA SP with an aftermarket shell: look no further. As mentioned before, the shell has a very ‘soft’ matte feel to it (as opposed to what I can only describe as a ‘squeaky’ feeling from OEM plastic surfaces). I honestly prefer this shell to the original; the quality is THAT top-notch. eXtremeRate made sure to include every piece necessary for a full shell replacement, including hinge caps and screen bumpers in matching colors and even a reproduction label for a fun individual design. This is a complete package if you want to overhaul your SP’s look and feel. I paired this shell with an IPS screen and it looks phenomenal. Upon initial installation, I faced some difficulties with the battery cover (be careful; it is a VERY snug fit). In doing so, I noticed a small defect in that one piece and eXtremeRate was more than happy to send me a full replacement with express shipping. That kind of customer service is why I will always purchase their products. All in all, I could not be more satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend both this product and eXtremeRate as a seller. I don’t think anyone does aftermarket shells better than them.

Looks good feels good

My main gripe with the soft shells is any bit of hand moisture is going to smear on the housing. Tough to clean off will not stay looking clean long, overall it does feel good in hand and is quite comfy. Overall the build quality is solid however in terms of comfort and quality/button functionality I give it a 4 however because of the aesthetic issues I have to give it a 4. Might just be because I chose black that it’s so visible I have a red soft touch on hand I’m going to assemble in the coming months and I will also write it a review once it’s assembled and functional

Almost perfect! I purchased the black shell. Screwdrivers are very convenient and fit screws perfectly, and this shell is very close to the OEM one in dimensions. The only negative I have is the black plastic builds up smudges and fingerprints very easily with use.

Follow the instructions it’s fairly simple. They have a QR code to a video. The hinges are not interchangeable since on is left the other is right specific, in the video they had it different but pay attention to which on which side as well as the orientation. This color looks a lot better in person. and when I say this kit has EVERYTHING I mean EVERYTHING. Tools, screws, adhesive rubber dots around screen, and even a new sticker. I paired it will a new ups screen and feels sweet. I did it to may original SP I got as a kid.

This is a very good quality case. I needed my old gameboy advance casing Removed and replaced ASAP. The outside of this new gameboy advance casing Feels really nice and smooth. It came with all of the buttons, screws, and screwdrivers needed. I will say it did take me a couple of times screwing, and unscrewing to figure out everything, but in the end it looks in and feels amazing.
