I really like this shell! It feels smooth, thick, just nice to hold in the hands. Not flimsy like some thinner plastics may be. The color shift is really good too. It comes with all the pieces needed for the shell and plenty of extra screws. The first three pictures are what I had to trim and sand on the inside to get fit the Funnyplaying GBA sp ITA screen. Basically all the inner walls had to go entirely and had to sand away at an angle a little of the screw holes to have just enough to get the fit. It's rough looking, which is to be expected from my first screen mod as I changed shells from my original flame red, but it worked as shown by the last picture with everything together! I'm pretty pleased with myself! Just watch how tight the top screws are when putting it all back together as you can squeeze the corners of the ita screen leaving a little blob looking spot until you relive the pressure, but you can still finesse it tight enough to stay securely closed!! Would be lovely if future versions can consider a way to fit a wider variety screens or a little easier to potentially trim as needed! I made this work because I was determined to give it a try before I jumped to the shells provided by Funnyplaying, and I'm quite glad I did.

I bought a cheap AGS 101 with a broken shell and reshelled it with this one. I was skeptical cause aftermarket shells always feel cheap. Not this one! This feels sturdy and premium; even with a silicone like texture on the plastic. I used the original screws and it worked just fine. Even got a new set of buttons from the same company.

This shell is awesome for the price. The plastic is sturdy and feels hard. It's feels more frosted than the original GBA SP shell however. Even with it being worth the money, there's one problem: The screwholes. They are pretty badly drilled. The screws are pretty hard to get in, to the point where I had tried so hard I chiseled the included 3-wing screwdriver just to get half of the screws in. I had to resort to another screwdriver from a bit set and even still the screws are slightly crooked, leaving it slightly creaky. PROS: -Plastic is high quality -The price (25.99$) is perfect for what you get -It's easy to assemble via the online video -Almost twice as many screws needed included just in case you lose some CONS: -Screwholes are badly drilled, you will likely need new screwdriver just to get the screws in -Doesnt include a sticker that goes onto the battery cover

I had previously installed a different shell and was very disappointed. I decided to get this one because I was tired of the previous one and the screen wasn't even staying up. I just installed the new shell and am very impressed. The instructional video was very helpful and it installed perfectly. The feel of it is amazing and speaks of high quality. The color is beautiful. I already had an IPS screen on mine, so I was happy that it was precut for it. My GBA now feels perfect. I actually have nothing negative to say about this shell.

I have ordered multiple products from eXtremeRate over the years, and have come to expect a few things from all of their products: a signature ‘soft’ feel, high quality materials, included tools/spare parts, and most of all, STELLAR customer service. My experience with this product was yet another example of why eXtremeRate is the best at what they do. If you want to upgrade your GBA SP with an aftermarket shell: look no further. As mentioned before, the shell has a very ‘soft’ matte feel to it (as opposed to what I can only describe as a ‘squeaky’ feeling from OEM plastic surfaces). I honestly prefer this shell to the original; the quality is THAT top-notch. eXtremeRate made sure to include every piece necessary for a full shell replacement, including hinge caps and screen bumpers in matching colors and even a reproduction label for a fun individual design. This is a complete package if you want to overhaul your SP’s look and feel. I paired this shell with an IPS screen and it looks phenomenal. Upon initial installation, I faced some difficulties with the battery cover (be careful; it is a VERY snug fit). In doing so, I noticed a small defect in that one piece and eXtremeRate was more than happy to send me a full replacement with express shipping. That kind of customer service is why I will always purchase their products. All in all, I could not be more satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend both this product and eXtremeRate as a seller. I don’t think anyone does aftermarket shells better than them.

Nach 4–5 verschiedenen Gehäusen von anderen Herstellern kann ich ehrlich sagen: Die Hülle von eXtremeRate ist die erste, die qualitativ wirklich ans Original herankommt. Verarbeitung, Passform und Materialgefühl sind auf einem ganz anderen Level – hier klappert nichts, die Tasten sitzen sauber, und das Gehäuse wirkt stabil und hochwertig. Besonders positiv: Die Hülle ist direkt IPS-Ready, also ideal, wenn man seinen Game Boy Advance SP aufrüsten will. Auch optisch sieht alles richtig gut aus – das Schwarz ist matt, nicht billig glänzend, und die Buttons haben einen angenehmen Druckpunkt. Natürlich ist keine Konsole oder Platine dabei – das sollte klar sein – aber wer einen Shell-Swap plant oder einen GBA SP restaurieren will, ist mit diesem Set definitiv besser bedient als mit vielen günstigeren Alternativen. Für mich aktuell die beste Aftermarket-Hülle auf dem Markt. Absolute Empfehlung für alle Modding-Fans, die Wert auf Qualität legen.
