I have the manual cheese grater that suctions to the counter. Mine doesn’t seem to want to stick anymore so I got the Kitchenaid attachment since I got a Kitchenaid mixer for Christmas. I like that it feels real solid. Clean up isn’t too bad. No worse than my previous shredder. You have to have a wide bowl. It is kinda messy at shooting the cheese out, however, my dog doesn’t mind. lol. What I don’t like is large chunks of cheese get caught in between the blade and the blade holder and when I pull the lever to release the blade for removal it doesn’t pop out like it does when it’s clean. I have to stick my fingers inside and pull it out. I am probably doing something wrong. Otherwise it is a great attachment.

Bought this as a gift for our 42-year-old daughter and she absolutely loves it. No more hand grating with the stand grater. Sooooo much easier and faster and fit the machine well. Made her wonder why she hadn't done it sooner (well, I guess because we didn't buy it for her sooner-ha ha) Update: While the product worked great, it was missing part of the packaging and did not look like the picture. The inside was plain cardboard vs the advertised black. The attachments were sitting in plain cardboard slots without the nice cover. See pictures for the advertised vs what we got.

Got this for my wife as a Christmas gift and she regularly uses it. She absolutely loves the convenience of this versus using a hand grater. It simplifies the time and effort and allows you to work on other things while cooking when this is going because it helps cut down time. Cleaning isn’t difficult and these attachments have been sturdy and stable enough to last for awhile now with a lot of usage.

This works great and it makes it so easy to shred cheese. We love our Kitchenaid and its attachments.
