Great for lightweight projects
In my first project, I installed ESPHome on one and connected 3 temperature sensors for my sauna. It handles this great, and I'm still using it. In my second project, I tried installing WLED to control 2 different led strips. It started out working fine, but eventually started acting strange, and became unresponsive. I determined WLED was too much for it to handle, and so I had to switch to an ESP32. But I have no complaints, because the D1 Mini is cheap, uses very low power, and takes up very little space. Highly recommend for lightweight projects!

Kinda astonishing.
If you think about what this product is, and the fact that you're getting them for $3 each, it kinda blows your mind. It's a complete (if minimalist) computer capable of doing quite a lot, complete with wifi. Honestly I don't understand how it's possible to design, build, market, sell, ship, and profit from a $3 computer, but they work exactly as advertised. I program them with an Arduino IDE, which was quite easy to get going with this board.

Nice product, could be better
Work as intended, nice product and high quality feeling. Have only used one of the two. It tends to heat up a lot under wifi and video transmitting but overall handles the job. The only problem was that one ground pin was not working and could not be used.

Great Little WiFi Boards and Easy to Work With!
These D1 Mini ESP8266 boards are easy to program, easy to solder, and come with the headers included (Not Soldered). They work perfectly with Arduino code, and connecting them to Wi-Fi is simple with the right setup. No battery included, but they power easily via 5V micro-USB. Great quality boards for the price โ perfect for DIY and IoT projects! Low footprint size.
