I use this item primarily to deal with apartment noise, such as voices outside or cars in the parking lot, and it’s been very effective for that purpose. The difference is immediately noticeable. If I turn it off, outside noise becomes obvious again; turning it back on quickly smooths that out. That’s a good sign it’s doing what it’s supposed to do. What sets this apart is the sound quality. I’ve tried cheaper white noise machines before, and they often sound artificial or low-fidelity. This one produces a more natural, consistent noise that’s much easier to listen to over time. It is a bit more expensive than some alternatives, but the improvement in sound quality makes a real difference in daily use. Overall, this is a strong option if you want effective noise masking with higher-quality audio rather than a basic digital sound.

Definitely a game changer! I used to have a huge box fan to drown out the noise. This is so much smaller and has a larger sound. I sleep well during the night and don’t have that big dusty fan to deal with anymore.

Worked great then broke! Sound machine lasted only a year and a half and they do not warranty past a year. It sounds like a train now, tried to troubleshoot and fix on my own and it still has a loud terrible hum to it and is no longer useable. Expensive item to break after such a short time.

I learned about this sound machine with the built-in fan at a baby store and immediately knew I needed one for myself. I highly recommend this model to anyone who prefers the sound of a real fan but doesn't want to run a fan or doesn't have one with a satisfying pitch and volume, or folks who can't stand the artificial, tinny, or obvious looping of digital white noise equivalents. I use it all night to help block out my snoring partner and cats, and now many hours of the day as well that we have a baby sleeping in our room. While it may not have quite as many extra features as some of the brand's other models, the natural fan sound is best for me and I greatly appreciate the customizability of the pitch and volume. For me, it is absolutely worth the price and helps improve this very light sleeper's sleep. The night light is very useful too, especially now with a newborn in the room with us. I have a couple "wishes" for this item -- that there were smaller steps between volume levels and that the buttons on top had some kind of tactile indication so you could identify them more easily in the dark -- but aside from that I am very satisfied with this machine and will happily purchase one again if needed in the future.

I wanted to write a review because there weren't many when I bought this. This machine has worked pretty well for us. I bought it for our bedroom to use as a sound machine and night light when our baby was born. The sound aspect is as expected for being a Dohm. It's nice and loud and has volume up and down buttons to customize. The nightlight part I was hoping would be bright enough to do nighttime diaper changes with, but it isn't. Its only bright enough to see furniture outlines so we don't stub our toes but not really sufficient for much else. We leave the light on all night as we take shifts with the baby. So don't buy this if you want a bright light but it does work well as a sound machine and I think it looks much nicer than the original white plastic Dohm.

I'm unable to sleep in total silence so this does wonder for me when I don't wanna have a fan on. It makes quiet and gentle noises and I usually sleep afterwards.
