SP Bel-Art, H-B DURAC Plus General Purpose Liquid-In-Glass Laboratory Thermometer; -20 to 110C, 76mm Immersion, Organic Liquid Fill (B60700-0400)

Well is is a economy product, but--- Found it to be off 1.0 degree Centigrade all the way from ice point up the scale. I guess if you knew that you could subtract exactly 1 degree and it would be accurate, as it is consistent.Rather disappointed as that is roughly 2 degrees F, and that is quite a large error for any thermometer, particularly with such a nice large scale.Good points: large scale, well made, and economical. Don't know if this is a single unit problem or whether they would all be that far off. I am tempted (considering the price) to buy another one just to satisfy my curiosity.

My first one arrived broken, but was promptly replaced. Can't really fault anyone for that, it happens. My second one works great. It agreed very precisely with other well-calibrated instruments.

Should not break in use. blue ones are cel red ones are faren. temp is matching between the 3 Bel- Arts.1/2f. dif. on the 2 red ones, which is nothing. Never seen a bad one but more surface area means more liuqid on the sides when removed. Needs to be in 2-3" of liquid or it's too big. Only one of the red ones had a split in the rubber triangle holder near top. Had about a 2f seperation at top easly fixable on one red one. Made inChina on this blue one. Don"t buy the blue Seoh, the 2 they sent were all messed up, if u buy three you mightget one thats useable, fineally fixed one heating it many times as one more spec at top and it"ll matchthe blue Bel-Art one. Maybe the post off. is putting them thru an x-ray device thats causing this, don"tknow. Seohs are thin and they will snap if bent or while unrapping it inside the thin tube.'
