Does anyone have suggestions to use to clean this off thoroughly, esecially grease based? I dont want any tiny particles getting into the cylinder.

Brake cleaner works or wipe the compound out then jet wash. I ve never had a problem with this product, if you are getting it in the ports and chamber your using to much.

Can you use this to bore a cylinder

Definitely not. You need a professional machine shop to do that.

A small amount and about 10 slides and it was running smooth

Used to smooth the rails on a custom build M1911 frame and slide rails. A small amounts and 10 slides and it was running smooth. Note the compound looks and feels just like automotive grease so don't get that mixed up as thia will sand and cut!
