Can this be used to make a diy air purifier?

I use two of these by taping 12x12 filters to them. The output side if slat so it blows through the filter, rather than drawing. It obstructs the speed control so I use the low setting. It is VERY difficult to find a flat fan in the 10 to 12 inch range which is mains powered. it works by using wide (Packaging/Moving) width tape. The setup is about 5 minutes. Blowing vs drawing through a filter, and I find that the filter becomes almost as dirty as with a fan on higher speed and I suspect the performance with smaller particles is fairly similar. I use 3M 1900 12x12 electrostatic filters.

Can I use this as an extractor fan for a toilet/bathroom ?

If you have a window in the bathroom, I don't see why not. I will turn it around in the window sometimes to smells out. I use it in the kitchen.

Does this offer enough noise to drown out snoring?

On high, it probably does. It is not a super loud fan. So I guess it would come down to how loud the snoring is.

the listing shows size 36 x 42 x 50 inches which is huge so i bet it is a error in the listing, does someone have one and advise actual size?
