Very comfortable boot
Good fit and didn’t need breaking in

Comfortable
A very well made boot, i will be getting a second pair.

Not as good as expected
Not 100% waterproof as advertised and not sure about the Ridge flex design....seems to be misshapen around that area and potentially could split over time. Otherwise a comfortable boot with plenty of grip.

Brilliant boots and worth every penny
These are excellent and worth every penny. If you need a wide toebox to avoid dreaded hikers feet these are the business. Have used on various conditions and feet kept bone dry. Highly recommended.

Comfortable Lightweight Boot until they soon break!
See below after initial review! This is a well made comfortable boot. Excellent grip and plenty of ankle support for a lightweight boot. Also suited my need for a wide fit.Follow on review: After using these boots 5 times, I noticed that the flexible area in the toe was starting to split on the left boot. Knowing this would get worse I decided to contact Keen to ask for a refund or exchange. In hindsight I should have contacted the retailer but having contacted Keen, when they eventually responded, they asked for more details and after 2 months told me to go through the retailer. A complete waste of time so eventually after 3 months with the boots returned to the retailer and with the assistance of Amazon I got a refund. It’s a pity Keen hadn’t been more helpful from the start. It goes without saying I wouldn’t recommend these boots nor Keen for their poor and misleading customer service.

Loving these boots out of the box after 1st short hike!!
These boots are comfy straight out the box,,, impressed so far after 1st short hike. Only thing noticed initially is the heel could do with better grip,,, and you can't double loop the laces in the top open lace loops...

Comfortable but not waterproof
They are so comfortable straight from the box. Love the ridge flex system which adds to the comfort. Great for wider feet also. However, I've only scored 3 stars as they do let water in. I have a dog walking company so I'm out in all weather walking 40miles a week. After the second hour in wet conditions you will feel the water in the boot. It's not complete saturation but your socks will not be dry. Such a shame as there such a great boot otherwise. I've also tried waterproof spray on them which hasn't really aided the problem. Had they been waterproof I would have given 5 stars.

Excellent waterproof boots
This must be the fourth pair of ridgedlex boots I have purchased and possibly the eighth or ninth pair of boots from Keen that I have owned. Earlier versions of the Targees were variable in their level of waterproofness (if that’s a word) but in all cases the wide toe box has suited my foot shape better than anything else I have found so far. I’m not a hardcore hiker or mountain climber just a dog walker but on average I cover about 40 miles every week come rain come shine. These boots do stretch after a while requiring a thicker pair of socks to maintain a good fit and in all cases they have finally failed at the point of maximum flexation where the foot meets the first toe joints and the ball of the foot. This shows up as splitting either along the folds of the ridges or near where the leather meets the welts. On average I get about six months (1500 miles) per pair despite using the appropriate wax to keep the leather sections supple. One pair only managed four months and were refunded by the retailer with Keens acceptance but other than that they have been fairly consistent. I tried a few alternatives and have yet to find anything more comfortable and flexible at the same weight or price point and would recommend them to anyone with a wide foot shape.

Even Better Than I Hoped!
This is my third pair of Keen walking boots - so I was already a fan of the brand. But this model of boots are shaping up to be the best yet. Not only did they fit like a glove from the get go, but were comfortable enough to go hiking in straightaway. Plus I they are strong, rugged, not too heavy, easy to get on and off, and, in my opinion, look really good.Only time will tell how they hold up - although I have high hopes. But for the moment the only thing I don't like about them is when I have to take them off when I get home!!!
