How soft is the pillow overall?

It’s not soft and it’s not uncomfortable!!! It doesn’t need to be soft then it won’t help with the not sitting down on your butt!!! I didn’t use it for the toilet…I used it to drive and sit!!! I loved it!!!

What material is this made of? I'd like to buy but the comfortability of the plastic is what stops me.

It’s not really comfortable at all, it’s like a really hard foam. But it definitely gives you the stability you need to hoover over the toilet.
