Battery tray Worked as advertised
Hadn’t used my Standard Horizon HX850S in years on account that the original lithium rechargeable battery tray died. Couldn’t find a replacement for years until this AA battery replacement tray became available. I initially tried some basic AA batts but then did not work well. So, I tried the expensive lithium AA batts and works like new. Now I have a great hand held VHF in my ditch bag again!

Works as advertised
I purchased this so I would have an alternate power source for my marine handheld. I was a bit surprised that it uses AAA batteries but after reviewing the ad I realized that I missed that. The tray works and indeed will provide backup power for my radio when on the water without the expense of another lithium ion pack.

Worked perfectly
Does what it’s supposed to do. Brought my vhF radio back to life. Couldn’t get a lithium ion replacement. This was the next best option before buying a new handheld

Saved a Marine radio.
The original battery is no longer available and this tray saved the radio from a junk pile. Fantastic.

It fits and powers my radio.
It fits in my radio and it powers it so I am happy so far. Will see how long it lasts but it appears to be made with decent materials.

Perfect replacement
I prefer these over the rechargeable factory version. I bought a dead VHF off ebay and installed this with AA batteries and it works great. It is easy to carry extra AAs and their are avaliable on long trips. No charger required.

Standard Horizon MK851 Battery Case.
The original Lithium ION battery is no longer available and this is the only type of replacement you'll find. Works great with a little less power on transmit, but fits the bill. I'm happy with it. Please note that a plotter will NOT work with the HX851 receiver if you go this route.

Only game in town for this generation hand held
Since the lithium packs are no longer available for this generation hand held, this is a great alternative. It works as expected.
