Best depth file guide I have had.
This makes adjusting the depth of the chain easier, but it still takes some physical effort. However, being that the guide sits across both sides of the chain that is being filed, makes for a more accurate filing. It has improved the working of the saw in combination with sharpening the chain with a different tool.

This gauge works pretty well to file your drags, chain cuts like new again. Not going to last a super long time due to the file removing metal from it as you file the drags but for the cost it’s not bad. If you only use your saw occasionally you should get many years of use from it. Would be better if it was made from a hardened steel the file wouldn’t cut.

Does the job
Guide is reasonable quality and easy to use, the file is very good and deals with chain steel easily. Bear in mind that all of these guides do get worn down from use, that's just the nature of the beast-they have to deal with the aforementioned files.

Needed for chainsaw chains
The depth gauge, also called a raker, tends to get higher than the cutting blade after repeated sharpening of the chain. This leads to increased friction on the cutter head, plus lack of ability to 'eat' into the wood. It is essential to have a tool that tells you to file down the depth gauge. The gauge and file are quick and easy to use. Guard it well, it is easily used by others and many times gets 'lost' to neighbours.
