Thank You Zinus!
Okay, reading my headline sounds as though Zinus paid me to review this bedframe, but I assure you, this is not the case. I've only had one interaction with Zinus in my entire life, and I'll share more of that later in the review. To start, I'll say that I was looking for the perfect, affordable bedframe for about four months... Yes, you read that right; four months of nonstop, daily research - from text reviews, to videos, to DIY options, to store-browsing, etc., and I finally settled on the Zinus Epic Queen-size bedframe. So, why did I choose this one? Simple; the good reviews, the style and the price! This bed seemed like a win-win-win, and who was I to deny myself victory? I placed my order and waited patiently for it to arrive. It must be noted that I shipped this bedframe to Miami, and then overseas to the Caribbean, and crossed my fingers, hoping it would survive the trip. Well, finger-crossing seems to work, because it didn't have a dent or scratch when it got here - the packaging was perfect! It's heavy, and generally you may need two people to maneuver this baby, but if you're a strong, burly man like myself, you'll be just fine moving it on your own (lift with your knees people!). Unpacking all of the items revealed the best set of instructions I've ever seen on any product (I'm not kidding, making pancakes is harder), and it was a breeze to assemble. It also came with all the right tools to get the job done, not just right, but quickly! More and more, I became not only a fan of this bedframe, but of Zinus. Until... Well, while assembling it with my girlfriend, we noticed something - it was short of two Small (S) screws, and we decided to use the Medium (M) screws to secure the small legs to their bracket on the frame. In doing so, we overtightened the screws and split the small legs (just a bit). It's a very small split in the wood, and the legs are still very usable. But, I feared the worse and knew that would greatly shorten the lifespan of those legs. My worst fear is having them break while lying on the bed. Anyway, we finished assembling the bedframe, put the mattress on it and tested it out (wink wink)... Not only is it well-built and durable, but it looks absolutely gorgeous, with those blue metal accents. We've been using this bedframe for about two months now, and it has held up quite well. Now, this is where Zinus and I meet... After I registered my bedframe on their website, I contacted support to see what they can do about the fmall feet that I split. Well, they responded promptly (within the same day), and without any questions asked, offered to ship me two small screws and the two small replacement legs that I split. The only thing they requested from me was a photo of the damaged legs, which I supplied forthright. Apart from making and selling a great product, their customer support is A1! I do not work for Zinus and am not affiliated with them, in any way. I'm just a regular guy like you, who happens to like nice things on a small budget, and I'm very pleased with my purchase. My girlfriend is too (wink wink).

Just as good as an IKEA frame
I've had this bed frame (the Full size model) for a couple months now and I'm extremely happy with it. My previous bed was a similar smallish-frame from IKEA and this thing is just as high of quality for a lower price. Assembly was easy and quick even though the instruction booklet is a little impressionistic, and the materials feel like quality, sturdy metal with smooth wood trim. It's an attractive frame for sure, and comes with some bonuses I wasn't expecting, such as velcro-like material to keep the provided wood slat foundation in place (the slats in my IKEA frame would constantly pop out) and adhesive strips to help the mattress stay put. There is little to no creaking so far (I will update this review if it ever does start creaking) even under heavy... ahem... activities, and there's even enough clearance underneath to store a couple short totes, boxes, or whatever else you wanna stick under there, just as long as it doesn't hit the middle bar's feet. Seems extremely durable, though only time will tell. I paired this frame with a 10" Zinus memory foam mattress, and it fits like a glove. The 12" would definitely fit just fine. I have two issues with this frame, and only one of them is sort-of a legitimate gripe: - There is a large scratch in the wood on one corner of my frame. However, I have no way of telling if it came that way or if I scratched it myself, so I probably just wasn't careful enough putting it together. Learn from my mistake! - The wood slat foundation is entirely flat. Previous beds that I've bought with wood slat foundations have had bowed slats, which gives the foundation a little give-and-take. That being said, I really can't feel a difference, especially with my memory foam mattress being so plushy. If you use a thin mattress and bottom out on this, the foundation isn't going to be too forgiving, but it hasn't been an issue for me and it's certainly not worth docking a star. TL;DR Good frame, built good, not creaky

Sturdy, easy to assemble, looks darn good
2018-08-15: Initial review; king size frame Weight - the package this comes in weighs FAR too much for one person to move, but that's not really a problem. We opened the box on our porch, and moved all the pieces inside separately. None of the individual pieces actually weigh very much, and there are surprisingly few pieces. Setup - extremely easy! A ratcheting alan wrench is included, which made the setup very fast. There's two different lengths of bolts. That's it. No other hardware is needed. The kit also included 2 spare bolts of each length. The wood slats secure in place with velcro, which I wasn't sure would be a good idea. So far it seems fine, although the mattress can catch on the velcro a bit when putting it on the frame and shifting it around to get the final fit. Use - so far it's extremely sturdy. No shifting of the frame even though it's on a concrete floor. No creaking or squeaking noises of any kind, despite standard usage by an adult couple. Appearance - the frame is matte black, which is nicely neutral. Once the mattress and bedding was on, the frame isn't actually visible. The headboard is a good height and allows plenty of pillows to be piled up against it for sitting upright. The wood of the headboard is very true to the photos on Amazon, and they're sturdy as well. Drawbacks - the only thing I would like to see would be stiffer wood slats that support the mattress. The ones included are a bit springy and rather thin. If they do get damaged at some point I'll likely replace them with oak boards of the same width/length/thickness from Home Depot/Lowes. So far it's not an issue due to the metal bar that runs from the head to the foot of the bed, down the center, and supports the slats. On the King frame, that bar has 3 separate legs, which adds a LOT of support.

Great frame!
I was looking for the best combo of 1) affordable 2) cute and 3) not being made completely of metal, bed frame and settled on this one. Iโve had it for a few months now, and have to say I love it!! I was worried about any metal components squeakingโthis bed hasnโt squeaked at all. The headboard and footboard are beautiful, and it was so easy to put together (did it myself). This frame seems very solid considering how light it is overall. Highly recommend. Oh and youโll notice some of the slats have a strip of sticky tape on them to help hold your mattress on the frame, because thereโs no โlipโ on the frame to hold the mattress in. But I havenโt even used that, I just kept the cover on the tape strips (youโll know what I mean when you see it), because the cover on my mattress already has little rubber bumps all over the bottom for grip and thatโs been fine. Highly recommend this frame overall.

Affordable, attractive, and sturdy.
For the price, this is a great bed. I had originally wanted a solid wood frame, but the ones in my price range often either came with plastic parts or only three supporting slatsโNo thanks. My wife and I barely weigh 280lbs combined, but three supporting planks is weak imo. So I took a risk on this Zinus metal frame, and Iโm glad I did. The lighter wood beam across the headboard and footboard contrasts nicely with the black metal railing. Iโm a fan of the look. Shows up in a box that was easy enough to carry upstairs. All hardware is included. The assembly wasnโt too difficult (wife and I put it together in under an hour), but like IKEA furniture, the directions are just pictures, which Iโve always disliked. There are numerical stickers on each piece that make for easy construction; that said, if by some chance a sticker had come off during shipping or unpacking, it would have been a pain to figure out because there are LOTS of parts. Thatโs the reason Iโm knocking off one star. All in all, itโs a great bed. You donโt need a box spring thanks to the MANY connected solid wood planks (thank you!) which Velcro to the metal side supports so they wonโt slide around, but we used a box spring anyway because we like the extra height. As far as storage space?....it has enough room under the bed to slide some small bins under it, but I wasnโt looking for a bed with storage, so I donโt care. All in all, this is a good looking, sturdy bedframe for the price. 4 stars, for sure.

Very easy to assemble. Looks great. Seems solid.
This will be a multiphase review. Part 1: Receiving, unboxing, assembly. The frame was delivered on the day it was expected, no delays there. Outer box was open on one end, but itโs double boxed. It is definitely heavy and bulky, but I was able to get it inside and to my room without assistance, and Iโm a 40-something woman who doesnโt lift weights or do CrossFit. If you have to navigate stairs, you will definitely need a small army of volunteers. Unboxing was a bit of a pain due to the aforementioned double boxing. I did not find any damage to the materials despite the rough handling from the delivery driver, so the double boxing did do its job of protecting everything well. Assembly was a cinch! Seriously, I donโt understand how anyone can complain about it. If you can count to 12, and match like numbers (1:1, 2:2, etc) you can put this bed frame together...by yourself. One tip, in case you arenโt very handy, when attaching the wood slats to the headboard, just get the bolts started on both sides before tightening them down. You will need a little play in the bolts on one end to get the bolts in the other end started, then tighten up the bolts alternating between the four on each board so you donโt strip them. It took less than an hour to get the frame together without help. Construction seems solid. I stopped short of installing the slats last night since it was late, I was tired, and I didnโt want my goober dogs thinking they could taste test the wood slats before I have a chance to get the mattress set up. :) Phase 2: Slat installation & sleeping comfort. The slats installed easily. I love the velcro strip that helps you space them right and holds them in place. I wrestled my mattress out of its box and onto the frame. Once it began inflating, I noticed it overhangs the frame at the foot of the bed by about 2 inches. Since I looked very carefully at frame dimensions before selecting a frame that was supposed to be about 1-1/2" longer than my mattress, this is a little disappointing. Since my mattress, at 12" covers most of the bottom wood headboard slat, I am contemplating removing it and sliding the mattress up a bit. I can always store the slat behind the frame and use it as a replacement if the other two are ever damaged. On the other hand, the slight overhang of the mattress will make stubbing my toe on the metal frame more difficult, so maybe I leave it as is. I am not tall enough to hang off the foot of the bed anyway, and I did not notice it have any impact on the feel of the mattress during the night. All in all, I would maybe take a 1/2 star off for that issue. Having spent one night on it, during which I took full advantage of having a new large King size bed, I never once heard a rattle or creak, even with my two 60-lb dogs leaping onto the bed and their tossing and turning through the night. The platform provided great support. I will update again later after an adequate "break-in" period.

Easy to install, stable, good height, good value for the money
3rd Update May 2, 2020 The bed is going strong. No issues. Solid and no squicking. However, my Casper mattress has become uncomfortable soft over a year and half. That has nothing to do with the Zenus bed. I am just sharing my experience. Second Update 11/28/2019 The bed did start squicking. It appears that the bolts and frames overtime settle and do need rethighteng. I took off the mattress and tightened all nuts and bolts. The bed is now quite again. First Update This is an update to my original review. It has been 4 months since I bought the bed. It is still stable and no squick. It is as tight as a drum! Installation Easy to install. This is an example of attention to detail. The assembly joints are numbered; therfore; you connect matching numbers in the order of the numbers. You start with Connection #1 and you connect Point 1 with Point 1; so forth. It is that easy. I do not know why others did not think about this before. Fastneres are organized and labeled on the box so that you know which is which. Spare fasteners are indicated on the box as spares so that you don't have to scratch your head wondering where these left over fasteners supposed to go. A racheting tool is included to speed up assembling the pieces! Wow! The whole thing is engineered and organized very well. Value I bought this platform bed to support a foam mattress from Casper and it is much cheaper than buying the Casper foundation and frame. The Casper foundation alone costs $250. This one cost me $150 plus tax. Quality The platform is made of sturdy pieces and the assembled bed is stable with no movement or squicking what so ever. The main differentiator for me was the additional three legs that provide support at the middle. This platform had a total of 7 legs and you do not have to worry about sagging at the middle over time. Sagging, over time, was one of the complaints I read from reviews for other brand platforms. Rest assured this platform bed will not sagg. Ergonomics and convenience There is 11 and1/2 inch clearance under the bed that you can use to store things under the bed. The height from the floor to to the top of the plats is 13 and 1/2 inches. The platform height is optimum for me. With Casper mattress on top of the platform , the bed will be at the right height where my thighs are horizontal when I sit on the bed with my feet resting on the floor. It is easy and comfortable to put my socks on and tie my shoes while sitting on the bed. That is perfect! By the way, I am 5 ft-10 inches tall. Some platform beds are so low, you will be a kind of falling down when you try to sit on the them. Possible improvement As most of you now, people would like to personalize their bedrooms with their choice of colors and they want their bed board color match the rest of their furniture. It would be nice if the wood boards were packageed separately and they are offered with different color and stain options. Alternatively, leave the current package as is and simply sell the different color boards as personalization kits. Zinus should include different color and wood stain sample coupons with the platform bed package and let the buyers use the sample coupons to match with their furniture and order the correct personalization kit. That would have been great! In summary, if you need a platform bed to support your new mattress, this is it!

Good value, looks nice
This is my fourth Zinus product, and all four have been well packed, well made, and visually appealing. Line up the numbers, tighten the screws, and it's done. You almost can't do it wrong. This is not intended for a box spring, so it will be somewhat lower to the ground. I'm not sure if a box spring would fit inside the rails, I didn't use one. It's sort of a medium navy blue. I was hoping it would be a little darker, but it looks nice. More matte than semi-gloss. Everything fit together perfectly. Welds are good, brackets are good, everything is deburred and smooth, paint/powder-coat is good. The legs at the foot are notched out to hide the screw heads on the frame. Nice touches that take some forethought and decent design. I'd say it's as good or better than most any other assemble yourself furniture like you might find at that blue and yellow Swedish store. The one thing that could be better is the welding on the tubular headboard. It's round stock, notched out and welded. The notching is good, but it would have been nice to have the weld around the entire joint, not just the sides. That leaves little open gaps which look unfinished. But, that would add cost. I don't prefer to buy from China when I can avoid it, but this does show a much better balance between low cost manufacturing and quality, emphasizing quality. My only suggestion for assembly is to leave the screws connecting the frame to the headboard posts a little loose, then tighten the headboard to the posts, then go back and final tighten the screws connecting the frame. That will keep the posts nice and square.

Love this bed!!!
Itโs not the same color as the pictures but still adorable! Very sturdy, smooth finishes , easy to assemble (would recommend 2 people doing it together though). The only drawback is itโs very light, so it may easily move around with a little push. Overall Iโd definitely recommend it!

Excellent Quality For Price Point
Although delivery was a little longer than expected, once the bed frame arrived we were delighted with it. Assembly took less than an hour. All parts were labelled for ease of assembly and everything lined up accurately. The two Hex Head keys supplied were unexpected, (one of which was a ratchet head hex key). Time will tell about quality but it seems very good and hopefully will last well. We are thinking of ordering a second unit and have no doubts about this product.

Good Bed Frame!
This is the second time I bought a Zinus frame and I really love it!. It is easy to assemble though I asked my friend to help me because I can't do it by myself but the instructions were pretty clear and everything is labeled properly. As for sturdiness, my parents and my 13 yo brother came to visit me for a month and all 3 of them used the bed - that was April to May 2019. We did not see any problem and all three of them slept comfortable. I love the minimalistic vibe of the frame. For me it is definitely worth buying. Delivery - this is where it sucked. Not the seller's fault perhaps, but of Amazon, I guess. It was delayed several times and needless to say, that was very disappointing.

Sturdy, modern, great value platform frame
A bit of a challenge to get a piece this large delivered mid-pandemic, but worth the wait. Let's get to the facts: Sturdy. No squeaking. Solid. Easy and quick to assemble for 2 people. Attractive modern piece. Metal is a blue hue, not black, but it's hard to tell in most light. I love the color. Just wish it was stated here since the photos don't make it obvious. Very happy with this purchase!

Perfect!
For the money I paid for a king frame, this can not be beat! Keep in mind if you are in a condo with limited space, this frame is ideal since the frame is so thin and you do not loose any space with an unnecessarily large head board. Not to mention is high enough off the ground for storage. I have suit cases, storage bins and Landry baskets underneath to maximize space in my condo. Furthermore, It has a very clean and modern look. Very sturdy, not sure how people say this squeaks, it is very quite for us. Easy to put together and easy to justify! 1 month in and no complaints
