But mainly away from constant direct light, especially avoid direct sunlight for this product even more after combining the two parts for more effectiveness.

can you use it in a cool mist humidifier?

I disagree with the prior answer. I use 5 activated drops in my cool mist humidifier. Thus far, I've had no issues and my humidifier stays cleaner.

Does it last longer in glass bottles than plastic and would it make sense to transfer from plastic to glass?

For long term storage always better to be glass so none of the plastic leaches in to the fluid over time
