Q: are the navy 90% cotton?

The Hanes Ultimate Cotton navy blue sweat pants purchased by me ARE indeed 90% cotton, and only 10% polyester. According to the label, there is no other synthetic. In my opinion, these are very well made sweatpants, and our main even more attractive by a reasonable price for a natural fabric garment. They are thicker than your typical, thin, synthetic sweat pants as well as most of the popular cotton ones. I dare say they will even hold up much better for you in winter. I wear them year round. You break them in, they're nothing but love. The best comparison I found in these are the old Russell athletic Puma line. Like a good pair of all cotton jeans, over time as you wear and wash them, they become even better.

Q: Did anyone have an issue with there not being a drawstring and just having the elastic waistband?

My husband didn't need a drawstring on his Hanes sweatpants. The elastic fit comfortable and not so loose as to need ties for adjustment. There is a one-piece drawstring that can be pulled in and knotted if the man is very thin and prefers something tighter. However, it can be ignored by those who don't need any adjustment. I don't think the average man, around 5' 10" and 175 lbs., would need drawstrings to tighten. The pants are warm and comfortable. Worth the price.

The dark gray mediums I received and prewashed today do not have unusually wide legs. They shrunk about 1" in length but little, if any in width.

Q: Anyone know where the 10% polyester is located inside or outside?

Hard to tell. Maybe the elastic? I'm essentially allergic to polyester, and bought these because of their high cotton content. I have no issues. In fact I bought another pair.
