Bumper Guard (HitchHammer 11.5" Wide)

This a wanderfull new product, highly reccomend, its on my short bed p-up & this item can be seen EZ in my rear view camera & is a excelent guide to help in backing up, if u did back into s-thin, this new item would flex & absorb the impact 1st, same thinf if another car or a person walked into it, just a excelent item, highly reccomend again ! it looks great & it can be used as a half step if needed if your foot is close to the factory mount, the hard rubber will never rust & last forever, it fits sung & tight with supplied curt pin, no rattles,,i think this will make anyone a very nice addition to there resse hith rear end, its very practical with the felling that you can back up with out fear & see the rubber hitch as u back into a toght spot ! . Its worth the money spent.

I was very skeptical of this item because of the lack of reviews. though i base all my purchases off customer reviews, I never feel the need in leaving reviews of my own....but in this instance I can attest to the hitch hammer being an amazing product that saved me from damage while I was rear-ended on the highway yesterday. I was parked at a dead-stop and the car behind me didn't notice, and hit me at a solid 12-15mph. Below are pictures of the damage. As you can see the Valance (bumper cover accessory) was the only thing that was damaged on my end. The hitch hammer managed to crack through their bumper and pierce their radiator before they were able to come to a complete stop. The hitch hammer itself is a durable solid rubber feeling device that lends itself to absorbing impacts rather than transferring them, like more solid metal hitches would.

I really like this product, and I think it looks nice. I got the smaller version but realized the bigger one would have better. My fault.

The "Hitch Hammer" end or tip is made of solid rubber, keeps damage to both cars at a minimum, big plus! However, a warning for purchasers to remove the Hitch Hammer before going through any automatic car wash. Such a warning notice should be included with this product. My "Hitch Hammer" rubber base that fits in the tow hitch was almost completely severed after I made a trip through an automatic car wash. This was not something that I expected to happen to such a solid product that doesn't protrude that much from my normal in length SUV tow hitch. Attempting to resolve this matter with manufacture now. So far no response to my e-mails via Amazon to manufacturer. In my opinion, the square post that fits in the vehicles tow hitch needs to be made of a solid metal or at least encased in a metal sleeve of some sort. In my opinion this would help prevent any rip away or tear like damage to the "HH" solid rubber post. Take a few mins. to remove your "HH" before you go through any car wash and be a completely happy "Hitch Hammer" owner that will give a 5 star review!

My biggest concern is a low speed hit at red lights and stop signs. The idiot that loves to run up to you bumper and then slow down just before they come to a stop has always been a problem for me. Just drive around and look at the bumper of other drivers. I have always used flush mounted patriotic hitch covers which I prefer but when I purchased an expensive 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4X4 with a V8 engine I wanted that extra protection at red lights and stop signs. It is a nice looking vehicle but having a standard trailer hitch sticking out took away from the appearance. I figured if hit at high speed it will not matter what you have for protection. This Hitch adds a little more class to the look of your vehicle. The reason I chose to give a 4 star rating is only because I wish it were all black without the yellow. Other reviews have mentioned the same concern. Overall I would recommend this item for purchase. Just switched today to a 5 star 2/2/19. Realized the yellow does stand out and people notice it while getting close to you. I have had comments on the hitch and apologize for the original rating of 4.

USe this on my 2004 Chevy Express Van when not towing the RV or the Canoe trailer. as another reviewer did, I also purchased a Connor locking hitch pin to prevent theft. The Hitch Hammer has a dual purpose in my case: 1. Protect the rear bumper, which is very close to the ground on the Chevy Express models, 2. Protect the 7 pin trailer connector which sits to the immediate left of the receiver on my van. It's even lower to the ground. Hitch Hammer has held up well in the NC sun - no cracking or fading after 10 months. I just like the idea of having something non- metallic in the receiver to protect somewhat from rain and road debris.

Only 3 stars due to non responsive customer service. I bought 2 hitch hammers, one with and the other without the reflector. Decided after installation I'd like to purchase a second reflector. Tried multiple times via several ways to contact the company but got no response. I hate to send the 10lb hitch hammer back for a simple reflector but seems Euro bumper guard has given me no choice.
