Jarrow is a company that I love most in the health care industry because I have had health issues dissolve within hours of their products. At the moment I have zero health issues for years with great prevention products and vegan diet, Pterostilbene is a naturally occurring compound classified as a stilbenoid, which is similar in structure to resveratrol, another well-known compound found in red wine and certain plants. Pterostilbene is primarily found in blueberries, grapes, and certain tree barks, such as those of the Pterocarpus species. I've been taking this for almost a year now to support the oral NMN supplement I take daily. I take it with a quercetin and bromelain supplement. Together, these three support the bioavailability of the NMN, which is a precursor to NAD. NMN is generally better to take than NAD because it has superior bioavailability and is therefore more easily absorbed into cells. I always think it's a sad waste of money when people do those NAD injections, because so much of it just doesn't get absorbed. Pterostilbene in tandem with NMN is a good daily combo.

I began taking two tablets daily after doing some of my own research on Pterostilbene. I do think I noticed a change for the better in terms of mental clarity and focus but don't confuse this with energy. I feel less "cloudy headed" and easily distracted at work. I had read that someone thought the product helped with weight loss although I know that not one of the published benefits of this supplement. I have always worked out 3-5 times per week and try to watch what I eat, but since taking this I've found it easier to take off and keep off about 5 pounds I had been struggling to shed. Coincidence? Possibly, but I thought it worth noting. One not so nice side effect was headaches the first 2-3 days which went away after that. I plan to continue taking this supplement in my current dosage.

I have not written a review for a supplement before, and I am writing this after only having had this product for 24 hours. I have been waking with numb and/or tingling arms and hands after sleeping in positions with bent elbows etc. These positions are not new, so I started to wonder if my circulation was going south in my mid 60s. I have also been feeling mildly sluggish as well. Some products for circulation have resulted in erratic pulse and/or rise in blood pressure with a nervous type energy. So I though I would give this a try. It arrived at noon yesterday and I took one immediately, and within two hours I felt lighter and buoyant energetically and also more focused mentally. I took another at bed time, and woke this morning with no tingling or numbness. Amazing after less than 24 hours taking this. I took another this morning and had greater than usual energy at the gym and my mood was just wonderful. I have taken my blood pressure a few times and it is normal with no spikes. I can't say this would be the same for everyone, and some here say they have noticed no change. I only speak from my own short 24 hour experience, but it is very real and I feel just great. I look forward to the long term results.

I was brought to this supplement by the hype around the supplement Elysium. This (plus whatever version of Chromadex NR you choose) is quite a bit cheaper than Elysium. I added pterostilbine by itself for a few days, and I had a slight dizziness effect -- nothing problematic, just providing feedback for others. A couple of weeks later, I had my blood pressure tested at a doctor's visit, and it was lower than the ostensible healthy baseline of 120/80 and lower than my previous visit, so anecdotally it does have some effect on lowering blood pressure. I didn't have dizziness after those first few days, so perhaps my body was reequilibrating to a lower blood pressure. Some users have trouble sleeping after taking pterostilbene, so morning / mid-aternoon dosing would be recommended. Jarrow is a great company and this is a great price. I did want to point out that you can find resveratrol + pterostilbene combo supplements for not much more, including the NOW brand on this site. If you are also taking resveratrol, or feel that it would have additive health effects, you might check out those combo supplements.

This product is good to use.

I was taking another supplement at the same time I started this. I thought all the excellent changes I was seeing were from the much more expensive supplement for mitochondrial damage. I ran out of the other but continued taking Pterostilbene by Jarrow and I was wrong. I had Levaquin in 2009 and it almost killed me. I still haven't worked since. This is the only thing that has made a huge difference in my life. I have severe muscle, tendon and ligament damage and for years I have had to live with no energy and much pain. I've been taking this for two months and I'm so surprised and joyous to say I am seeing great improvements. I have less pain and more energy and for the first time in 6 years I can go out and work in my flower garden and not start feeling so hot, miserable and in great pain. This is such an astonishing thing but that's not all. I have had so many health issues and slowly I see myself getting better by the week. I'll update after a few more months. I highly recommend you try this if you have cell damage.
