I use this for both wood and metal. Itโs the best Iโve found, by far.

The longevity and consistency of this paper beats the pants off of most others. It's probably even just a hair better than equivalent 3M WetOrDry paper. Value of buying the big pack is excellent. Would buy again (although probably not for years as the 20 sheet will take quite a long time to go through with how long a sheet lasts!)

I use this for painting with pastels. It's absolutely fantastic as a lesser expensive way to get the surface you need. While sanded pastel paper is thicker, this isn't. It's much thinner. However, the pastel covers the surface. You could mount the paper first if you want a thicker or harder board. It's definitely worth a try for all the practice paintings. I have even framed many of them on this paper.
