New Balance Womens Made in Us 990 V3

This is my second pair of 990v3, I am planning on ordering 2 more pair in different colors in the next few months. They fit my feet as if they were made for them. I currently have a broken toe and they are the only shoes I can wear comfortably. I cannot praise them highly enough. I can wear them all day, every day, for every activity and my feet are still comfortable at the end of the day. Plus, they are made in the USA! Expensive, but worth it!Update 4/30/16: I now own 6 pairs of 990v3 shoes, I really love them. This is my go to shoe. I cannot say enough good about them. I own a lot of New Balance shoes, cross trainers for working out, walkers for long walks and running shoes.I am happy with all of them, but the 990v3 is my favorite. It runs a bit large so I buy 1/2 size down. We all have different feet, and we all do different activities for my feet, these shoes are totally amazing!

I love these shoes so much. I had a pair a few years ago and every shoe I have tried since just doesn't compare to these. They are perfect for running and walking or any kind of exercise for that matter. I am a very large woman so it's imperative that I have a good pair of shoes to simply walk in. My weight is very hard on my knees and ankles and these shoes keep me mobile. The fact that these are made in the USA was the deal maker for me to spend this much on shoes. I have extra wide feet so I ordered these in D width and they fit very well for me. Always look for the ENCAP on New Balance shoes because this always helps with support and the ABZORB does a great job at shock absorption. These shoes are great for someone with diabetes. I believe medicare will reimburse the purchase of them according to what I've seen on the New Balance website. These shoes are just wonderful no matter what your need is.

I have worn the New Balance 990-991-992-993 series shoes for over a decade as my main daily shoe. I am not a runner, but I am quite overweight and prone to plantar fasciitis. This shoe happens to work for my particular feet. I wear them all day, every day, and right now I am also wearing them for a walking program, for exercise.It has been a while since I wore the 990, and after wearing the 993 I wondered how the new 990 would feel. It's still great. It still fits my foot, just as it always did, in the same size, and gives me the support and cushion that I need. Maybe it gives me a little more side support than the 993 did, and it might have slightly less cushion, but basically it is almost the same shoe in my opinion and gives me what I need in a shoe. I wish these shoes were not so expensive, but in my opinion they are very high quality shoes so I guess you get what you paid for.

NB shoes have always been a great shoe and a good fit for my feet; however, as I get older, I find that I need shoes that are just a bit larger and more padded to accommodate my "what seems to be" ever expanding feet. After purchasing several pair of extra cushioned shoes with large toeboxes, I find that the NB shoes are no longer the best fit for me. Before I switched to extra cushioned shoes, I found that my feet seemed to begin to tire, ache, and hurt more quickly even while wearing my NB shoes than they had when I was younger. After switching, I found that I can stay on my feet and maintain my distance without discomfort. All this being said though, NB is a great shoe that wears well.....just sadly not for me.

A mixed review for one of the better shoes out there. I personally wear men's 990 v.3 and have 3 pairs of them in different colors. I bought my mom a pair of the women's version. She works with people with severe developmental disabilities and is nearing 70 years "young". She generally has a wide foot for a woman. I ordered her regular size in these 990s and they were quite a bit big on her. The sizes in the men's version also tend to be bigger than normal, but not as much as these were on her. She ended up going down a full size (from 8 to 7) and says they are still "roomy". In comparison to the men's, I typically wear a 11.5 (Brooks, Nike) to a 12 (Asics, Adidas), but only wear an 11 in the 990s. Besides this size problem the shoes have become her daily shoe. She stands 5-6 hours a day at work and says they have relieved her knee and ankle pain, not cured, but at least relieved. If you can find a pair to try on or don't mind returning them these are excellent all-around shoes, not just for running, but all daily chores.

I have to admit first that I have horrible feet! I've had several foot surgeries and have toe problems so I can't wear just any shoe. I've been buying New Balance for years now because they're the only athletic shoe I can wear comfortably. They're the only ones I can find in wide sizes also. In New Balance, I wear a 10 1/2 wide in women's or size 9 wide in men's.I had the 993's and loved them, in fact still have them but they're wearing out and, of course, New Balance can never keep a good shoe when they have one but always think they have to "improve" it and make a new model. So along comes the 990. Well, it's comfortable.....BUT.....there are a couple things about it I do not like and would not buy it again. Here's why. The tongue on the shoe is too short, period. So when it starts out short, then slips down after a while like most of them do, it becomes slightly annoying. Not really enough to cause any pain but just annoying. Also, and probably the major thing is this shoe runs LARGE. Like I said, I always order 10 1/2 W and normally have plenty of toe room. Well, I could have ordered, at minimum, a HALF size smaller up to a whole size! So, because I had so much extra room, I put in an extra set of inserts along with what came with the shoe and now they are very comfortable! They could use some more cushioning in the first place! They look great. They feel great, now. But the tongue thing bugs me every time I put them on! Why, oh why, does New Balance do this?? They've done this with other styles too, such as the 610 that you can't buy anymore and I have to go into search mode to try to find another pair that feels as good. Unfortunately, it's hit and miss sometimes. But I DO love New Balance shoes and I've had better luck with them than any other brand. The 990 just doesn't compare with the 993. If you buy them, order down 1/2-1 size or plan to put inserts in them and if you don't think the shorter tongue will bother you, give them a try. With Amazon, you can always send them back!

Absolutely amazing shoe!! Made in America!! Lovely workmanship on this shoe...all colors are really gorgeous!! You can walk all day in these right out of the box. You can work out in these shoes. The toe bed has plenty of room, the support is wonderful, the feel is so superior. I order a size up, so I'm an 8 and I order a 9 so I have plenty of toe bed room, even if I wear thicker socks. These took me all over Colorado, in Denver and on through the mountains!! You cannot go wrong with these shoes...handsome on men and cute on women!!

I purchased a pair of the Women's 990 shoes a couple of years ago and love them. They continue to be wonderful shoes. I power walk 5-7 miles per day, and I can only say that these are the very BEST shoes available for the serious walker. I also find that due to their superior fit in the heel and foot support, they also help greatly with my back issues. I bought a second pair this week to wear in the house only because they provide such positive support for my feet and legs, thus helping with my back. The best thing is that they are MADE IN U.S.A. Thank you, New Balance, for supporting American workers!
