I absolutely love my MagniPro magnifying light. It's the best purchase I've made in ages! I use it for my craft projects, but mainly for my diamond painting, and it can't be more perfect. The LED lighting is adjustable, dimmable to the exact brightness I need, the gooseneck maneuvers to exactly where I need to direct the magnifying glass to go. The magnifyer itself is the perfect size and shape for placing over the area I need to see clearly and I love the hands-free design. The visibility is crystal clear with no distortion. My vision for up-close work is very poor and this makes it a breeze! I'm SO happy with my MagniPro! And, it works with my Smartphone to use for reading ebooks, too, another bonus. This is souch better than any other magnifyer I've purchased in the past, hands down. MagniPros makes great illuminated magnifiers!Recently I was remembering that I used to have a lightered swing-arm magnifier at work for looking at the fine details on engineering prints. I was thinking that I should get something like that for use at home. Then a few days later I saw an add for this desktop lighted magnifier from MagniPros. So I ordered it immediately.I am very satisfied with with this lighted desktop magnifier!!! The lamp has a dimmer switch so I can adjust the light level as needed. The flexible swing arm is easily adjustable to almost any position. And the approximately 5x7 magnifier is a really good size for viewing most reading materials (not to big, not to little).It works really well for positioning for hands-free use at a desk or table!I have already purchased about a half dozen MagniPros magnifiers. They all work well and the quality is good. In addition to this desk-top magnifier, I also highly recommend their 4x handheld magnifier with rechargeable fully dimmable lights.Thank you for taking the time to read my review.A

Got this to help with an iPhone SE charge port/battery repair. Since I am 65 and the ole eyes ain't what they used to be. The unit is sturdy, I like the base, bendable arm, dimmable light and USB charge port. The magnifier could have been a lot better... it has a distortion being a piece of removable cheap plastic, for the money I was expecting something better optically and resorted mainly to using 2 pairs of readers stacked on my face for the repair. but the light helped out and it worked for a closer inspection after the fact. I can see where it will be nice to have for a splinter, doing your nails, seeing some fine print or a phone close up. Would I buy it again??? I don't think so... at least not for 40 bucks maybe 15.

Updated: Since I first wrote this review. I have been working with the usb connection. It IS working. My phone is charging. As I said previously, at first it was a tight fit to get the cord into the usb, but now it is easy to put in and pull out.I do a lot of genealogy and numismatics, so this magnifying glass is really invaluable in looking at documents and coins. It is big enough so that I can see the whole page at once. You do have to do some adjusting so that the view is clear but that is a given. I love that it is hands free. I can look at documents, take notes. The base is heavy enough that it doesn't tip over but not so heavy that you can't move it around. I love the way you can twist it around.

Item was extremely hard to assemble. the plastic screen was blurry and has optical defects. One has to find the exact angle to look through the screen to focus on the letters one is reading. Expensive price for plastic (not GLASS) using low quality materials.Seller has BAD BUSINESS ETHICS and questionable business practices. Should be banned from selling on amazon. Here's why.Item contained a card stating that as a thank you for purchasing the lamp, the seller is offering a free clamp that one can claim by either calling an 800 number or thru email. There are NO OTHER requirements written on the card to get the clamp. So, I wrote an email to claim said Free Clamp.Imagine my surprise when I got an email from the seller stating they could NOT give me the free clamp because I needed to write a positive review of the item. Seller then stated that standard rules and regulations apply - which is a fancy way of saying we bait and switch you and will NOT give you the free clamp unless you write a positive review.Looking at the card, there is NOTHING WRITTEN, AND NO MENTION of standard rules and regulations apply BS that the seller is using to NOT issue the free clamp. Typical Bait and Switch Scam. I dare the seller to show me where on the card it says standard rules and regulations apply. I am looking at the card right now and I see NO such statement or requirement to get the free clamp. Sub-standard product with BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. SHOULD BE BANNED FROM SELLING ON AMAZON.Ascela\

I am writing this review based upon my 94 year old Gramps phone conversation he and I had after I sent this to him to help him when he reads.He raved about how incredibly bright the lights are on this and how he doesn't need his glasses with it. He was most excited that it isn't merely for reading, that with the stand, he can fix things using it. He sounded like a small boy telling me all about how wonderful this product is, made me giggle to listen to him. He thanked me over and over again, stating that this really has improved his ability to function around the house. His sight is extremely limited and at 94 I suppose it should be! However, this has improved his self worth by allowing him to enjoy reading again and tinkering at the house with little projects. He also said if I were "Nice", that he may let me borrow it if I should need it for a project of my own!!Thank You, dearly.
