Perfect Book for Beginners
Some characters you should look up for more accurate grammar and understanding, I recommend the Pleco app for iOS, unsure about Android), but overall the pacing and organization of the book is awesome! I have a couple more chapters left and am buying the second volume after I post this! This book, Pleco, and ChatGPT/DeepSeek are the holy trinity for learning Chinese. If you’re thinking about buying this, do it!!! Plus the price point is perfect.

It’s a great book to learn how to write and read Chinese characters and learn vocabulary. It can really help you learn how to read and write the Chinese characters and it helps you with remembering how to write them automatically with memory. You should definitely get this book if you’re interested or want to learn Chinese or get it if you want to freshen up your knowledge or skills.

Very good book
I used it quite often until I got too lazy but this is a really good book to start as a beginner. I honestly only bought this for fun, since I find Chinese characters to be therapeutic to write. It's straightforward and easy to remember what you learned (unless your like me and take extra long 4 day breaks).

This workbook is like so good omg. It’s the perfect starter book if you’re looking to learn Mandarin Chinese! I just love how the book is organized and structured. There’s a lot of spaces to practice your writing and there’s examples to learn off of. The practice questions are also straightforward, helps in sentence structure, and is a good review tool. Overall, great workbook!

J'ai acheté ce livre pour maîtriser la lecture et l'écriture des sinogrammes pour l'examen hsk 1 de chinois.À défaut d'être esthétique, ce livre est bien fait. Les explications sont simples. Les mots sont présentés dans l'ordre logique d'apprentissage.Pour chaque mot, on a le sinogramme en chinois simplifié, sa version traditionnelle, le pinyin, quelques usages, le radical et en dessous un grille d'entraînement avec les dessins dans l'ordre.Au bout de quelques mots, on a une série de petits exercices d'écriture puis au bout d'un moment de lecture.Vraiment très pragmatique et bien fait. Je suis ravie de l'avoir acheté.
