I mounted my <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002EXYPM/">umbrella clothesline(/a> by hanging it from the center of the old canopy frame over my patio and stabilizing it with beach umbrella bags, but I was worried that the canopy frame might break under the load of wet clothes. I got this 2" piece of pipe and an end cap to rest on the ground, and my clothesline pole fits inside of it perfectly with enough room to spare to pour in sand to give the pole a firm contact with the ground so the ground will hold the weight. The clothesline turns freely like it's designed to do when installed in the ground (which I didn't want to do because we rent), and now I can screw a galvanized planter around the base and sit container plantings inside for a nice appearance. Worked out great!

Short length pipe worked great for my project. I didn't have to purchase a full 10 foot stick of pipe to have the unused pipe laying around in the shop.

I need it to hold up my wind spinner. I wanted it to be higher after the wind spinner broke its pole. This would be stable & strong to with hold the winds & extra vandalism people that seem to want to destroy pretty things. It to make them work harder which they don’t like. More time spent more chance of them getting caught in the act. So far it has work and standing up great in being the base of my wind spinner. Left the black wrap on so it blends in my garden better.
