Small and lightweight battery backup
Great piece of kit. I mounted it on to my smallrig cage cage along with a small NP-F battery and then cable tied a couple of leads to the side of the cage of my "run and gun" rig. If the internal batteries on any of the components of the rig run out of power it provides an emergency back up. If I need to use the rig for extended periods I can stick a large NP-F battery in and run stuff from that. The model range is quite large check the unit that you are purchasing has the model number you need. I purchased the 3168 "professional edition" I went for the profession edition as it's aluminium and durable and will output 12v 36w. Smallrig also produce a 3018 lite edition which is plastic and only outputs 24w

Alternative to V mount
I was looking for external battery power for my Blackmagic 6kG2 video camera. Professionals almost all recommend a V-mount system, but they're expensive. Besides, I have a couple of NP-F570 batteries to hand as spares - the problem being that I need something to last over an hour (and 570's just won't quite do it). This mount does the job. I've since bought a couple of NP-F970 batteries that, using this adapter plate, allow me almost a full day's use. I could have got the cheaper version but this one also serves as an extra charger.

Lifesaving power for long shoots.
Using this with a BMPCC 6k and can run basically all day now. No complaints.

Should be zero star.
This thing just never worked out of the box, at all. Couldn't have been a bigger disappointment.

Smallrig NP-F Battery Plate is good!
This NP-F Pro Adapter plate is a good one. Now we can use any NP-F battery for olmost anything on the camera rig wich obviously have many benefits. I can now use my monitor and use my camera with one battery and next to that power my phone or something else using the included type C usb. One thing I want to mention is that on my battery plate it said the output 12V and 7.4V and not the 8V wich said on specifications. Olso important to mention u have to hold the red button for 3 seconds to power the battery befor using it and another 3 seconds to save the battery when not in use. Thats it. I recomend this battery plate if you are looking for a multisask your NP-F battery. Use this battery plate from Smallrig.

PD available for R5C
I had 2 NP-F970s that I bought for my previous camera and I thought to keep these batteries instead of selling them. I have a V-Mount battery, but I thought to see, if there was another way to power via PD output. Most content creators push the V-Mount option but nobody is talking about the possibility to power the camera with less expensive options like an NP-F battery. I've emailed SmallRig to ask whether it supported PD from NP-F batteries and got my answer saying that yes it does provide 9v of stable power, which is required for R5C to run. I had doubts that it will provide enough power. However, now that I've received the plate it provides enough power even for 8K 60p Raw Light recording even. The plate does not get warm at all if some were wondering if it's hot to the touch during use. Fantastic small battery plate that will help you utilize old NP-F batteries in newer cameras if you are running short on budget or do not want to rig out the camera with a V-Mount battery and a plate system for it.
