Product Description How much to work it off? There is not enough time in a day to work off a bad diet! Most people can barely fit in an hour of exercise per day. This poster helps folks realize that large portions of nutrient-void foods are costly for a calorie and exercise budget. Specs This poster is 18" X 24" The poster is laminated on both sides for extra protection. English for audiences 12 to 100 Description and uses Here is a fun exercise poster to show how many calories are in many foods and how long it takes to walk them off! The bright photos of common fast foods, drinks, and snacks that are high in fat and or sugar and commonly served in large portions illustrate that there is simply not enough time in the day to work off a bad diet. This poster emphasizes calorie awareness for commonly consumed fast foods that are high in fat and sugar and low in fiber and nutrients. It is always way too easy to consume too many calories from these products. Who knew that half of a frozen pizza contains over 600 calories? This poster makes a great classroom poster plus it can be used as a school cafeteria poster or it can be great for gyms, employee break rooms, nurse's offices and health fairs. While exercise is always a great idea it has to accompany a healthy diet, too! The amounts of calories given are from the USDA database and manufacturer's data. Times to burn calories are based for a 150 pound person and these can change based on the weight of the person or the amounts of food consumed. Here are a few fun examples For a quarter pounder burger with cheese you will consume 520 calories and a person who is about 150 pounds will take 1 hour and 19 minutes to walk it off. For 2 pieces of fried chicken the time to walk off its 490 calories is 1 hour and 14 minutes. It takes 1 hour and 40 minutes to work off half of an average frozen cheese pizza that is 660 calories. Review: Patients love it or hate it - I hung these in my two exam rooms in clinic. I love it. I’ve never had anything in my exam rooms generate as much conversation. Many patients say they love it. A few yell (literally angrily yell) that they “don’t want to see that” or “don’t want to think about that.” Overall, it’s a win. I’m looking for more posters about healthy choices and lifestyles for my exam rooms. Review: Great poster! - This is a has been a great addition to our cardiac rehab gym! Easy to read and follow and great nutrition conversation starter!

Cuts to the chase
I loved the poster and my patients thought it was very informative.

Factually Inaccurate
The poster makes the statement “If you weigh more it will take you longer to burn those calories” which is inaccurate. Generally people who weigh more will burn calories more quickly during exercise and they also have a higher basal metabolic rate (which the poster ignores the existence of completely). I am asking my general practitioner to remove it from their exam rooms.
