Perfect Replacement
My smoker stopped regulating temperature even though the control panel seemed to function as normal. Installation is very simple and my smoker was back to working well. Unit has been installed for about a year now and it is still working perfectly. Much cheaper than buying a whole new smoker.

Also works as replacement for Masterbuilt Electric Smoker model 20070710 - 2 prong& 5 prong plugs.
Bought this to replace the Masterbuilt rectangular module on the left in the photo, though it wasn't listed. My smoker had both the 2 & 5 prong plugs. They fit perfectly. Unscrewed the old module - 2 screws, unplugged it, plugged in the new one, plugged in the smoker, & it worked like a charm. I tested it for all systems, time, temp, probe and it all worked. It's as bright as the old one, which in the full sun isn't as bright as I'd like, but I'm not having to buy a new smoker. Less than 5 minutes to do the replacement.

Digital readout too dim. Thermostat malfunctioned second time I used the smoker.
Digital readout is nearly illegible in daylight, even when shaded. The one I purchased is malfunctioning and is not turning the heat off when the set temperature is reached. The control panel read 249 degrees when it was set at 165 degrees. Ruined a batch of salmon.

Direct replacement (almost)
Almost perfect replacement with a few exceptions. My old unit had a remote control which no longer works with this replacement unit. Not really a big deal for me though. My very first unit (not pictured) had conformal coating on the circuit board. My last unit didn’t (picture attached shows the corrosion on the components that eventually ended up in failure). This replacement unit I received also had no conformal coating so I bought and brush applied some in hopes of extending the life by keeping moisture off the electronics. Let’s face it, smoking meats creates moist air/smoke that billows out of the unit and I suspect gets into the control unit. Not sure why the manufacturer decided to skimp out on conformal coating other than to save production costs (and maybe sell spare parts)? That’s why I removed one star. Crossing fingers this helps the unit last years!
