It's all in the lights!
So I'm in a pretty good position to review this monitor bar. I bought this one, and another cheaper one costing around £30 which were both on offer. I wanted to see which one was best in terms of fit, quality, lighting, ease of use etc.Out of the box the cheaper one actually felt more premium with a heavier feel and more matte black and full aluminum finish. Although to be clear the finish and build on this one, although lighter, also feels premium. The other was around £15 cheaper. Similar shape and design. That's where the similarities stop. You maybe can't see from the two images. One is from this light, the other from the cheaper one. The best way I can describe the difference, other than the clear brightness difference, with this one getting up much brighter, is...The cheaper product seemed to beam light down and gave the feel of a normal light shining down. This one is more expensive, however, I think that might be due to the type of LED's or the way they are designed. The light is more concentrated. Kind of like a more focused 'sheet' of light shining exactly where you need it most. Another distinct difference I picked up on. I was able to use this light on its own when viewing a bright white screen in the dark and didn't feel my eyes strain. With the other, no matter how bright I put it, my eyes still strained. I also noticed that I only needed half the brightness I did with the other light to get the same effect and even less eye strain.Other things to note. A very cool and intuitive automatic light sensor which is very useful. One extra colour mode is available and genuinely do think I will use all 4.I maybe would have liked to see more than 4 levels of brightness. But that's minor. Will I use more than 4? Not so sure. Conclusion: Yes this one is a little more expensive than the other cheaper models. Which one will I pick out of the two purchased? This product came in a clear winner, mainly due to the way the light is emitted/dispersed. Making this monitor lamp a very useful purchase indeed. I can work with very little to no light anywhere else in the room without eye strain. Making this light well worth the extra few bucks!

Well made. Bright and functional
Really happy with this purchase. The build quality is superb. Very confident feeling attachment to the monitor. Lamp is bright and colour range very usable. Button press either end to turn on. Rotate left end for colour temp and right for brightness. It’s really nice to have physical controls in this touchscreen world!

Perfectly helpful to the eyes
I've always wanted a monitor light bar, the equipment inspo from all the rigs and office setups I've seen online had me itching for one, so I took one look at PROSmart's light bar and new I just HAD to try it out.So it arrived, I unboxed it, hooked it up to my PC monitor which is a 25 inch ultrawide and I must say, on initial inspection it's a very good quality piece of equipment. I image and video edit, sometimes when time runs away from you (often without realising), my eyes are straining due to the light and glare from the screen when day turns to night. PROSmart's light bar helps keep an even amount of monitor light around your desk and reduces screen glare - effortlessly. Each end has a dial, one side does the brightness and the other does the temperature. The dials feel very premium - the whole kit does to be honest - and while the dials have a silent 'clicks' to acknowledge a settings change, the adjustment to the light is stepless. All I had to do was connect the USB to the PC and I was done, a simple setup and easy to use controls. The only gripe is the mount to the top of your monitor, as the light bar is front-heavy, touching the dials makes the whole light move, sadly it just doesn't stay solid in one place if your monitor has a curved back like mine does.

A good lamp that simply sits on top of the monitor
What I really like about this monitor lamp is that one has a lot of control and options available as one end controls the LEDs so one can have wite LEDs, a mix of white and orange LEDs or all orange LEDs whilst being allowed to have the lights brightened or dimmed. It's a good lamp that simply sits on top of the monitor and can be turned on / off by simply pressing either end and turning the ends controls the brightness and colour.I am recommending this monitor lamp as it is very good for daytime use when light is low and is excellent at night when one is at the PC and the mains lighting can be turned off when this is in use. It is well made to a good quality standard and will last a long time so it is good value.
