Works perfectly
Just put in batteries, make sure it is set to the right channel and hang it up outdoors. It immediately started working perfectly.

Works well and is what I was looking for.
This connected to my AcuRite weather station easily, and now tells me how many recent lightening strikes I've had and how far away the last was. NOTE: do not use this anywhere near a microwave oven, it can sense the start and stop of the oven as lightening strikes. And, I had one of these sensors before that I hung from a tree limb and it stopped working after a couple of months. So this one, I bought one of the AcuRite solar shields, so we will see if this one lasts longer. Note about the solar shield: it is priced WAY too high, more than the cost of this sensor, BUT it occasionally goes on sale for $10 to $15 less.

Works Great!
Works Great! I love this little sensor, it seems to be very accurate. I like the fact that the bottom of the screen turns red (HD extra display) and it starts counting the strikes right away. I like that it has a strike count after the storm has passed and gives you a distance from the strikes as well. I am going to push to get these installed at all of my neighborhood pools. There are always arguments between the people at the pools and my lifeguards about how long ago the last strike was. This takes the guesswork out of the equation. Great sensor, I can't wait until they can get integration with the smartHub.

Awesome item
Keep track of lightning strikes as they get closer. This item works in conjunction with the weather station we purchased and we found it to be an excellent addition. The weather station also keeps track of the number of strikes with this device. Make sure you place it in a secure location where it won’t be dropped as you can break it if it falls.

PERFEC T replacement with super fast delivery
Arrived early and was perfectly functional as soon as the batteries were installed. Could not ask for better service or a more perfect replacement for my "dead" outdoor sensor for this very handy outdoor weather system...

Not quite what I expected.
I expected this device to integrate with the base unit seamlessly and work without an issue, but that is not what I experienced. It has a ton of false positives and apparently needs to be positioned well away from the base unit. Or possibly my base unit is not compatible with the device. I have not seen any kind of decent results from this product.

Multi property sensor, home assistant
Chose this sensor as it also has the storm/lightning detector. This has a learning curve which I am still learning. Alert is reset after 2 hours what I understood from the manual, but it keeps the last distance of the 'last' detected storm and increase the lightning counter. Easy to read is really unapplicable, but I'm reading it with rtlsdr and that was quite easy to set up.

Lightning is a major issue
I have used these sensors for the past several years and as they need replacing I have ordered more. I live in an area with a lot of lightning and I rely on these sensors to notify me when it is detected so that I can disconnect cameras and t.v.'s. For the price they are more than worthwhile and I would recommend them to anyone.

Was painless to set up on Acurite Hub. Do not put in full sun. Find a shady place or temp will be off buy a lot. Very senseative to electric things. A cell phone or wifi will set it off. Even a cordless drill driving a screw made a strike. After a found a place out out the sun outside and away from anything that would cause any interference it works very well. I knew going in a would have to find a place it would work. I am pleased with it.

This lightning detector works quite well. Unfortunately it works too well. When is senses lightning it gives off a little beep , which unfortunately it scares one of my dogs so badly that he would rather sit outside in a thunderstorm than listen to it.
