good filter
Expensive, but it seems to work.

It works!
A friend who is allergic to sulfates recommended this product to me and I am so happy he did. It really does work. As I got older I started to get a headache after just one glass of red wine. It was disheartening because I really like red wine and I love to go wine tasting. This device has a filter in it that you pour the wine through and it greatly reduces the sulfates in the wine thus also greatly reducing my headaches. The instructions say you need to use a new filter for every bottle of wine, I experimented a bit and found that one filter can last for 2-3 bottles as long as you pour all the bottles within an hour or two, so I do this when friends are over and they all want to try the new filtering system. However, when you let a bottle stand over a full evening, maybe 3 hours or so the filter doesn't work as well for even just one bottle, so in that situation I would just put in a new filter. So, knowing that, it is easy to make this system work for each situation. It is a bit awkward to change the filters until you get the feel for it. And the first replacement filter I used was a bit to thick to fit into the device, I thought it was user error, but when I tried another filter it for perfectly, so it may be that there is some inconsistency in size. I have not run into that problem again. I haven't noticed a change in the taste of the wine and neither have any of my friends who have tried it. It seems to be a well constructed product and it is easy to wash after use. I recommend this product if red wine has been giving you headaches.

Very expensive, very inconvenient, but works well. I use it every time I drink wine.
TLDR; 1) It works well and I don't get allergic reactions to sulfites when using the filter. 2.1) It takes too long to filter 2.2) The filter clogs after 1 to 2 bottles of a heavy red wine 2.3) You're going to spill wine everywhere somewhat often because of the slow filtration and small filter bowl. 3.0) They're too expensive. The filter holder is nearly $80 and the individual filters are nearly $3 each. I've been making wine with my dad for about 28 years and just recently I've learned how to do it on my own. Long story short, wine usually gives me headaches, stuffy nose, and asthma, so I stopped drinking it for years, despite making it with my dad (and wine being a central tradition in my family). After learning that we put sulfites in the wine to kill yeast, kill bacteria, preserve color, and prevent oxidation, I figured that this probably kills bacteria in my stomach and triggers this horrible reaction, but it is a crucial component to making great wine. I realized I need to find a way to remove sulfites from the wine before I drink it. This product works very well and I use it ALL the time. I take it to parties to be honest. The biggest issue is the price. It's nearly $3 a filter. Because these filters are some sort of copper powder base, they get clogged very quickly, so I usually only get 1 to 2 bottles out of them. The second issue is that it filters very slowly, depending on the wine. The first bottle of a heavy red can take 5 minutes to filter and the second can take well over 10 if it doesn't get clogged. The slow filtration encourages you to keep the filter bowl full so there's more pressure pushing down on the wine. You'll spill the wine often. You might have to stand by the bottle and pour, wait, pour, wait, pour, wait, pour, wait, for quite a while. Every time you pour the bottle, you'll spill a small amount of wine on your countertop. The product is annoying but it works. I would love it if the filters were $1 each.

Excellent product!
Absolutely love this product! Used for a couple years and seems to elevate cheaper bottles and help with hangovers.

It works! No headache!
Like all professional women in their upper-40s with a spouse and teenagers, I am a BIG FAN of wine. However, I am not a fan of waking up with a headache and a fuzzy brain. My friends and I saw the Ullo on Facebook around the same time and I decided, in the name of science, to try it out for all of us. The other reviews mentioned lower prices outside Amazon, but we live on a military base in Japan with an overseas military address, and the Ullo website would not ship here. At any rate, it arrived yesterday and turned out to be much larger and heavier than I expected. It's about the size of a baseball, and you'll want to be very careful perching it atop your expensive crystal wine glasses. The packaging is sophisticated and attractive, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. I had a little difficulty getting it locked back together after inserting the filter, but by matching the ridges in the filter holder with the ridges on the inside of the black part, it went together easily. I also didn't expect that you're supposed to take a minute or two pouring the wine through the filter. You know how that feels like forever when you're waiting for the microwave to beep? It feels even longer when you're waiting to drink your wine! On the bright side, the necessity of a slow pour kept me from putting away a bottle of wine as quickly as I certainly could, which may lead to somewhat lower consumption than usual. It gave me a minute to think, "Do I really want another glass of wine?" My very first sip tasted a tiny bit weird... I can't explain HOW but this is a wine I drink several times per week and it just tasted a little off, but only on the first sip. Subsequent sips and glasses did not trigger any kind of reaction or awareness to taste. Okay so blah blah blah, I drank a bunch of wine, went to bed, and woke up this morning feeling... (drumroll please)... FINE! I didn't wake up sweaty in the middle of the night and stay awake for 45 minutes, I didn't have a headache in the morning, I didn't feel blurry, and I didn't say "Ugh" when I stood up. This thing really works! Keep in mind that each filter is only good for ONE bottle of wine, and now I'm kind of wishing I bought the white wine carafe to filter the whole thing at once. Replacement filters are a bit spendy, too; if you buy the 10-pack from Amazon you're adding $3.99 to the price of each bottle of wine you consume. Regardless, to enjoy the effects of wine without the consequences is well worth it to me!

Costly Replacement Filters Above My Budget
The replacement filters became very expensive for my budgetโan ongoing cost that ultimately led me to stop using the purifier not long after the initial purchase. Because I didnโt use the product for very long, I canโt really comment on its overall quality or effectiveness.

Works for me!
I love red wine but hate the feeling the next day, headache, rosacea and brain fuzziness. I started using Uiio and noticed a difference the next day. Recently Iโve started โdouble filteringโmeaning I do the full bottle filter into a decanter then put the Uiio over my glass and filter it once more from the decanter. Iโve drank a whole bottle of wine and donโt feel nearly as tipsy as I have before and once again I wake up with no headache, no face flushing, no fuzziness. It is a bit pricey but if I get to enjoy red wine and feel as good as I do the next day, itโs worth it. Life is too short, drink the wine!

It really works
I bought this a long time ago but hadn't used it until recently. I can say that it really does work. I ended up using it for a few glasses of red wine which would normally give me a really bad head ache and hangover the next morning however with this I woke up the next day and had no hangover or head ache what so ever. Try it out it really works.

For anyone who drinks wine and is sensitive to sulphites BUY THIS PRODUCT
I am extremely sensitive to sulphites in anything whether it be wine or food. When I saw this item on Good Morning America I darn near died. My problem forced me to give up wine altogether so I had nothing to lose by trying it. It was amazing! My wine tasted better and I had no after effects from the additive. I have recommended Ullo to several people who have the same problem as myself. It is great.

Needs Improvement, But Does The Job
Overall, my girlfriend loves this thing. She used to only be able to have 1 glass of wine before she felt a headache coming on, but now she can enjoy as much as she wants. The only issue is that the pieces don't fit together 100% so when she has it set to "Air," wine leaks out the edges. It takes a long time to pour, but overall she says it's worth the mess and the time to avoid the headache.
