Total disappointment!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This primer deserves "0" stars. "1" is too much credit. Ordered 2 cans. Received 3. Was ready to send back 1 can but decided to try how it performs. And by far this is the worst epoxy primer I've ever used. First of all, after following the instructions to the letter, regarding activation and mixing process, first can would spray for a 5 seconds the most. Then just stopped. I thought maybe nozzle got blocked and tried the other one. But it just wouldn't work. It got blocked somewhere inside. Then I activated and mixed the second can with exactly the same result. After numerous trials I decided to repeat the process of activation and mixing with second can. I thought maybe I just didn't activate it good enough. But can simply exploded at the top spraying everything around. Angry and hopeless I decided to try the third can. I repeated everything exactly the same as with first 2 cans. The third can worked as it should. I thought well, at least something is working. It was in the evening. Next morning I decided to see what results did I get and to my total surprise after curing this primer turn yellow! Not white, not off white but yellow. Just like "Submit" button below this review. Now I got the idea why people are getting 3 cans after ordering 2! This product is a total garbage! Read reviews and do yourself a favor-stay away!

Worked for me
I refinished the lower unit of an outboard motor by sanding to bare metal, applying an acid etching primer, then Samurai primer, and finally finish coats of Evinrude brand outboard motor paint. I was sure to shake the Samurai cans double the time they recommend both before and after mixing to hardener in to prevent problems. The paint generally went on well. There were some snotballs in the spray; not sure what causes them. After curing, these easily sanded away with 400 grit, leaving a smooth finish for the top coat. This primer is much glossier than other epoxy primers I have used. I appreciate that they include two spray tips, round and fan. The fan is perhaps a bit too wide. I was surprised that a can I mixed was still good to use the next day. While I was able to get an SDS, the company does not appear to have a TDS (Technical Data Sheet) available for it, so I still don't know if this is a DTM (direct to metal) primer or not. Overall, I am pleased with the product. We'll see how the lower unit paint job holds up.

Doesnโt Work as Intended
Ordered 2 cans. Followed the directions on the label and the first can would not spray at all. I put the orange/red topper back on and gave it a second tap and the can separated. Clear liquid started coming out of the seam near the spray nozzle hole. So I grabbed the second can, gave it the olโ slap, and it would only spray for a max of 3 seconds then stop. It would spray for about 3 seconds every 15 minutes. Donโt waste your money.

Not a bad choice, i will order again
Shake well, pop the top, shake well. Good coverage, painted 6 rims, very easy to use, read the instructions, it says it all Im not a painter and don't care about overspray, it will scrub off in the wash, dries quicker than paint, see about life in the snow soon Got a before and after photos

Seems hard and tough
Reading all the reviews first helped a lot. This was for an architectural hardware project that wanted durability and was not too concerned with surface perfection. So it seemed I would be ok and it was a good call. May not have been as happy if I was trying for an auto finish. I did not sand it before applying subsequent top coats. ( this was old work where I had sanded off rust and was wanting to seal it all well against future rust. Over this epoxy I used my conventional brushed acrylic primer and topcoat) The spray , using the flat fan head ( not the round pattern also provided) the feel is similar to a convention spray rig except for the closer distance it seems to like than with either that or typical rattle cans. I used a lot a patience to really shake it well as suggested in previous reviews and did some tests passes to clear any gunk. The coverage seemed good with each pass. I had some left in can after two coats on twelve complex surface post caps and four large strap hinges. For the most part the finish was quite good , basically as good as my non critical surface prep. Don't try and mist it, put down a wet coat. The instructions for puncturing the inner can (and the video) did not match the actual detail of the red cap on the can so I had some confusion and anxiety about that. The instructions do not show that the can comes with a white plastic sleeve under the red cap. It was hard to tell if that cap was meant to be a limiting device for the red cap travel when punched or if it was a safety that was supposed to be thrown away before use. When pulling the cover off the can it caused both the red cap and white sleeve to go flying. After some study I decided the white sleeve was a limiting stop and put it back in place with the red cap prior to the puncture maneuver. The problem is that you don't know if you have punctured the inner seal or not. And when the paint took and hour, instead of the advertised 30 minutes to set up I was quite concerned I had not mixed the hardener in ! However all was good, but didn't appreciate the stress.

Heinous product
I bought (1) can, but for some reason (2) were shipped. I reviewed the instructions and followed them to a "T". The first can did not spray at all, I decided to try inverting the can for a second "strike". The can then ruptured, spraying (and ruining) my clothes in addition to spraying epoxy all over the floor, workbench, trashcan and everything on the way to it. I decided to attempt with the second can. This can sprayed very nicely, for about 15 seconds. I tried several of the other unused nozzles in hopes that maybe it just clogged, no dice. That can was subsequently tossed into the expoxy sprayed trash can. Was this an experimental product? How could it perform so poorly? I read all the bad reviews prior to buying and assumed those people simply didn't follow proper proceedure, guess I was wrong!
