Good value
I bought a Tumi, a Swiss Gear and this backpack. I also compared the Ogio in person which we already owned. This is the one I kept. The inside is roomy. The zippers are sturdy. It’s a nice backpack. The Swiss Gear was flimsy and cheaply made comparatively—this backpack seems a whole lot more sturdy. The Ogio was also sturdy and well-made but just felt a little too big for me.

Great pack!
It's like where have you been all my life? Fashionable, pockets galore (where you need them), sternum strap, side mesh pocket, side clasps for sweaters on the outside, etc. Love this pack. It may outlast me! Good computer pouch too.

Three Years of Daily Use
I went on Amazon just now because I wanted to buy another of these. Bought my first one in 2016, and it has been everything I wanted. Incredibly strong. Comfortable. Holds a ton. Easy to access everything. I use it for commuting to work (with laptop and gym clothes), but also for travel. The sternum strap is a little low for a woman's chest, but it's still much more comfortable than the other styles I tried. Finally, on a recent trip, when I was carrying about 50 pounds of bottled water, the sternum strap broke. Figured I'd get another one. I highly recommend it!

Expected Better — Failed Too Quickly
We previously owned a High Sierra backpack that lasted for many years and served us very well until it finally wore out. Unfortunately, that model is no longer available, so we chose the High Sierra XBT as the closest alternative. However, the quality of this newer backpack is significantly lower. We purchased it at the end of February for my daughter to use as her school backpack, and now, just at the beginning of April, the front zippered pocket has completely broken and can no longer hold anything. To make matters worse, the backpack failed just after the return window closed. For a backpack over $70 to last less than five weeks is very disappointing.

Good quality
Excellent quality and design. I liked the price compared to other sellers. It turned out, it's a little to small for replacing the carryon for plane trips.

Great Quality
Great quality and lots of zippered pockets. My 17" laptop fits fine. This is a replacement for a similar High Sierra model from 10+ years ago.

Mixed thoughts
My husband bought this brand of backpack for me 16 years ago. That thing lasted forever, and is still technically functional. It was just starting to show since wear. I went back to school so we decided to buy a new one. This one didn't last long before it started getting a hole by the zipper. It's now not very usable and I'm looking at needing to get a new one. I loved this backpack, but it seems like they don't use as high of a quality material anymore.

Slightly let down
**Update: The more time that passes, the more irritated that the laptop section isn’t in its own section. Turns out that having the extra compartment would make the bag more functional for me. The size is still more than adequate, but having to store everything in one big compartment hinders staying organized.** I work 12 hour—overnight—security shifts at a major industrial site, and at least 1/2 that time is spent either outside, or otherwise exposed to the elements; so I carry a wide variety of items on a daily basis. I need: cold-weather hat & gloves; a storage clipboard for work-related forms/reports; a regular notebook, an all weather notebook, and numerous writing utensils; charging cables and devices; Tylenol, Ibuprofen, an emergency pill box for my prescription medication, medicated chap stick, and cocoa butter for my skin; a thermos for coffee, another for broth/soup, and some kind of sandwich/wrap or a salad; then I have a travel coffee mug, and a 40 oz insulated water cup.. At the end of the day, I empty my pockets and belt into my bag, so my toddler doesn’t find (and run off with) daddy’s: Badge, and badge reel; organizer belt sheath with flashlight, keys, pocket knife, and multi-tool; yet another—primary—writing utensil; belt; watch; shirt-stays; and nicotine gum. That’s my daily BASELINE, and half the time I also have to carry a hard hat. This bag has helped me to keep ALL of that organized—and—I’m not even using all the little organizer compartments. There’s still room for me to bring a 3rd thermos if I wanted to (because, why not!?), AND I’d still have room for my hard hat. I have no regular need for a laptop at work, so I don’t normally carry it, but if the need should arise, I’d still (with a third thermos and hard hat) have room for it, and I’m relatively confident it would be safe from impact damage. So there’s the good, meow I’d like to express my disappointment, and the reason it only gets 4 stars. This same bag, was redesigned for airline travel, and has a dedicated tech compartment for your laptop & tablet. Its padded in the front and the back, and it zips all the way open so you’s can lay it flat on the scanner belt. I thought that redesign was the extended zipper so that the separate compartment would lay flat. Turns out it’s the entirety of the separate compartment. This bag has one main compartment, and a smaller organizer compartment on the front, not four. The third zipper on the front is an expansion for the smaller front compartment, and the fourth zipper behind the carrying handle is just a second opening for the main compartment. 😒. Not just let down; irritated. Overall, I’m still thrilled that I picked this bag over some of the other bags that I was comparing it to, however my runner-up lost because it is laid out in the same manner: a main compartment for your gear, and an organizer pouch up front, except that bag has the third compartment specifically for your laptop. It also had a place for a power bank and a usb connector.

Great Product Upon Arrival. Yet to Provide Updated Feedback After 1 Week of Use!
Got the backpack today and appears to be a nice product. Very spacious! I am disappointed about the colour of the straps as I was expecting a Crimson leaning towards orange, and it arrived as a deep red. Not as the photo :( There are some loose threads in the stitching. I hope this is not a sign of defect!

You simply can't get the same quality from any other brand
My last High Sierra backpack has lasted me for 6 years and I'm an IT Engineer that carries it around everywhere, everyday with a ridiculous amount of cables and connectors and accessories and equipment weighing in at around 25Kg. My original is still in perfect working order but is looking a little tired and tatty around the edges so I picked out this replacement on Amazon after looking everywhere for one. I even contacted High Sierra and they told me they don't officially supply the UK so I'd have to use somewhere like Amazon to find a reseller and luckily I did.
