Big Shot Kit with Trigger (Set1029D)

I honestly don't know why I hesitated so long to buy it - a must-have if you cut a lot of trees that require ropes. It's expensive and it looks like a cool toy which made me hesitate to spend the money, but the truth is that if you find yourself needing to rope trees before cutting them, trying to throw ropes (or install them using poles and whatnot) gets really old, really fast. I do a fair bit of property maintenance for myself and neighbors and honestly this just makes dropping trees way safer (getting a rope in the right place is easy, so you don't hesitate to do it). Putting a rope 30-40 feet (or higher) is a cinch with a big shot.

This product worked as advertised. The trigger is the most important piece. I can’t imagine using this without the trigger.

Works great to get weight and line where I need then to self trim nearby trees with manual 48" 2-way saw chain that I bought last year on Amazon. Launcher and trigger were able to accurately do work I needed to do. Used to waste 10-20 minutes trying to hand throw weight bags with ropes. now just 1-3 tries and hit target plus can reach even higher spots. 1/2 price of higher end model available at local Lineman supply shop. Tree services are overbooked and don't want to tackle small jobs that a bucket truck can't get to so helping me slowly trim down dead elms just 12ft uphill from kitchen where there is no room to directly fell the trees.
