Dangerous Fire Hazard – Do NOT Buy!
I bought this 110V to 220V voltage converter while visiting a country with a 220V electrical system, as all my devices from the U.S. run on 110V. I followed the instructions exactly, but the moment I plugged it in, it burned out immediately and nearly caused a house fire. A strong burning smell filled the room, and in a panic, we rushed to unplug it and had to shut off the power to the entire house to prevent a disaster. It was a terrifying experience. This device is extremely dangerous, poorly made, and a serious fire hazard. I wouldn’t trust it with any appliance, let alone my safety. Absolutely do not buy this!

Works as advertised
Works well for a couple of bedside lamps brought over from the UK. A lot of negative reviews don’t understand Wattage - this is a 100W transformer so won’t work for high-power appliances like hairdryers or coffee machines

Reliable and affordable
I connected close to 100W to this little transformer and it handled it exceptionally well. It didn’t overheat and it kept providing reliable 110V from a 240V line. I haven’t tested the step up function.

If it's not working, read this. Here is what happened to me
We are now down to 1 star because the power plug (output) falls out and sparks; because the receptable inside the unit is not pinching on the prongs of the inserted plug. I ordered a replacement and it had the exact same problem, so you are likely to run into the same problem. See video. One unit will be sent back. I took the other unit (that I absolutely need) to an electrician and opened it up and pinched the prongs, that pinches the power plug, closer together. Now the plug stays in and that unit works. In general, if the unit is not delivering power, check this: Mine was only putting out 60 Volts. Connected to 120V (US) It turns out that the small switch on the back that was set at 230 Volt thus reducing the output to half. For use in 230 Volt countries. After changing the switch to 117V the out-put went up to 230 V as advertised. I have not stress tested the unit in any way, my connected table lamp is only drawing 3 Watts

Very heavy unit
This voltage converter works great, but it is really heavy. It awkwardly tips over surge protector power strips that have a single line of plugs because the unit weight is offset when plugged into it. I was also hoping it would be much lighter than it is so I could travel with it. But it just adds too much weight to my luggage, whether carry on or check.
