Q: Does the metal clip slide onto the belt or is it permanently secured to the holster so no one could pull it off in a crowded situation?

When you purchase the system with our belt, the holster is attached with screws and cannot be lifted off the belt. Thank you.

Q: Would this rig fit a "bridge camera" the boxy superzoom types like a Nikon P1000?

I am sorry no. The base of the P1000 is too wide.

Q: Is this kit a stand alone or will I have to buy the belt separate?

This is an upgrade kit, not to be used alone, for someone who already owns a Single Camera System to create a Dual. If you wish to carry one camera, you would either need a SpiderPro Single Camera System, or a Spider Holster Set if you are planning to use your own belt (no pad with is set).
