NERFMega XL Big Rig Blaster, Largest Mega Darts Ever, 3 Mega XL Whistler Darts, XL Dart Blasting, Onboard Dart Storage

We have fast pro dart guns that leave a welt, we have Nerf guns that require batteries (yuck), we have lots and lots of different types of guns. This blue foam dart is really big - much bigger than the mega reds. The blue, big foam dart whistling through the air puts a smile on my face. There is something very satisfying about launching this dart as it make a noise in flight and good thump as it hits a target. Also, if you are playing outside in the grass... the darts are big enough they don't get lost. This is now the favorite gun to battle my kids with, and I don't mind being hit by it either.

So, I am a big fan of the original MEGA Nerf Guns but wanted to try something diff. I admit I like the new style of these these MEGA darts. The only very small gripe is just an aesthetic one. I hope they come out with a version w/o the cartoonish lettering.....but....its the performance that counts for me. Since the darts are larger the wont go as far as the regular Mega darts...but that is understandable. They do hit with a satisfying thud overall so that is a plus for me. The overlarge size is pretty cool as well. Another plus for the oversize darts is that they are VERY hard to lose!

My husband and adult children absolutely love this! So many giggles! The nerfs fly out insanely fast with whistle! They go very fast and far!

While Hasbro has been struggling somewhat the last few years to really innovate or even compete with the up-and-coming competition, this Fall saw them return to their roots with the goofy but ultimately incredibly fun MEGA XL series. The Big Rig is the first offering, and as the "budget" option for the range comes in at a very reasonable price tag.What you get for the 20 or so bucks this costs is an admittedly huge blaster with a full compliment of 3 equally huge darts. These are without doubt the most interesting aspect of the MEGA XL line, and are nearly double the size of the already-huge MEGA darts. The Big Rig itself is a simple direct plunger design that is primed via the sliding "handle" at the top rear of the blaster, with the top barrel being the one that actually fires. Below this is storage for 2 additional MEGA XL darts.Ergonomically, the Big Rig is very front heavy with an oddly undersized grip, making it a bit unwieldy considering it's essentially a massively oversized pistol. That being said, it projects the MEGA XL darts a fair distance given their weight and size, and the darts themselves are designed to whistle menacingly when fired. This is actually an immensely fun part of the blaster, as simply hurling giant keening foam objects is an enjoyable experience, and the price of admission seems fair for what it does. Ultimately, the Big Rig isn't a new paradigm for blaster design by any means, but it has enough of the old-school fun that Nerf is known for to make it a solid purchase.

Don't think about it, GET IT! The whole family had fun!

Purchased for my nephew for Christmas he was excited and was shooting everyone and it whistles when shot from a distance. Darts are big enough they are easy to find thats good cause it comes with only 3 darts. But the fun didn't last long at all with in days his evil parents or sister has hidden his precious ammo but rest easy I will drop some more off with out them knowing. Next year getting him some loud musical instrument.
