I had property surveyed and wanted to remove the wooden stakes along with the bright plastic ribbons tied to them. Decided to purchase these. They hammered in with no problem. The "heads" are big enough but flat enough to mow over. As long as you know the general area of your survey I think these would be easy enough to find. They are very well made and heavy.

I had a survey done which showed that the property line is a foot past the fence on the neighbors' side. I wanted to replace the surveyors' wooden stakes with something durable that won't get in their way when they mow the grass. These stakes pound flush to the ground and have enough material that they are likely to last two hundred years. Since they are steel, I know I'll be able to find them with a magnet, even if they get lost under the grass.

I purchased several sets of these stakes to permanently demarcate "zones" on an irregularly shaped lot to help with application of spray herbicides, etc., at the correct rate. Before, it would take an hour of measuring, driving temporary wooden stakes and painting lines to identify the zones. With these Pepperfish stakes installed, I can place a disposable survey flag next to each stake and start work in five minutes. Mowers run right over the stakes with no problem, and aerating should not be an issue, either. We'll see what happens the next time I dethatch, but the extra length of these stakes should help keep them in the ground.

these are nice markers, large head and shank. even if you pound them in too deep. they are plenty large to find with a detector. very nice product!

I bought the shorter and smaller 6-1/2" survey stakes and had to return them. They just weren't long enough to be any good. Then I found these XL sized ones from the same seller in 10 inch. These were just what I needed to pound into the soil and grab the surrounding soil without being loose. I highly recommend these for a more sturdy and permanent installation. They cost a bit more, but really worth the extra cost. No worries here.

These are exactly as advertised and are very heavy/beefy (which is what you want in sch a product). Ground was relatively hard here but a rubber mallet made short work of installing them. I will buy more.
