I buy this year after year and it makes pool maintenance so much easier. Simple drop into your skimmer anti algae solution that also GREATLY helps with pool opening. Just get your initial vacuuming done and chemicals close, first, as this newer style has some additives which help with water clarity and you don’t want to backwash that out into your yard. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS and you’ll have clear water faster than you ever have at initial opening, and you’ll never have to worry about dumping algaecide that can stain or foam up your pool throughout the season —with this in the skimmer. It’s an essential product for our pool, and helps keep the chemical content (and costs) low.

This is our third year using this product (you replace it each year). It does what it says it does. We live in the Houston area so hot and humid most of the year which is perfect conditions for algae. A couple of years ago we could not win the battle with the algae and someone recommended pool rx to us and it cleared our pool within a couple of days and it was green enough you couldn’t see through it. We do have a large pool so we use the booster as well and usually add it around September/October but pool season is long in Houston. A new one goes in around April. It really works and saves a lot, as before we were dumping tons of extra pool chemicals without good results. You will still need to maintain a chemical balance with your water but we no longer fight the algae all year.

In my backyard, there are several oak and pecan trees surrounding my ~30k gallon in ground, vinyl lined pool. Each year I fight green and yellow algae, but this year has been my toughest battle yet. I normally use standard 3" pellets and standard shock(not the 6 in 1) to maintain my pool during the summer months. This year, that simply wasn't enough.After repeatedly shocking my pool clear, the mustard algae kept coming back. I got this product to augment my fight against the algae and simply placed it in my skimmer box the 3rd time my pool became partly cloudy/green-blue. After 10 days of my normal routine, the water cleared up, the algae dropped out, residual chlorine went way up and I won my fight. This has been an excellent product. Nothing in my routine changed except for this addition. The water is now also a deeper shade of blue. I see this as a more cost effective way to get the same results I've received in the past from using the 6 in 1 products, which cost much more for me in the long run.I did note you need to be a bit careful when removing the skimmer after this product has been in there a while. I now place the skimmer on the [underside of the] lid for the skimmer, instead of on the concrete deck itself, because the PoolRX unit drops flakes of a blue substance that can dye the concrete a bit. The color did come off after several days and some rain, so it wasn't a big deal. but I can imagine it might stain some surfaces if you're not careful. I would both recommend and purchase this product again.

This is an excellent product. My pool was clear, but it had a light green tint and lacked that sparkly look. When I started using this product, the pool became crystal clear, and the water was a beautiful sparkly blue. I reduced using chlorine tablets by 50% and stopped having to add liquid chlorine in the heat of summer. The chlorine levels were consistent throughout the summer.I don't know how it works, but it is amazing! I recommended it to my sister and she had the same results. If you.ever thought about doing your own pool maintenance and saving money, this is a game changer.

So far this has worked great. Opened the pool for summer had some algae that needed some attention. Put in the filter and no algae.

Works beautifully well and I've had no issues. I buy two per year and supplement with my pool shock. No issues. Pool looks crispy like KFC crispy

I’m pretty sure that I already wrote it with you for this product and I am totally amazed on how much it controls the algae in my pool. I was able to turn the salt cell down because it was working so well would highly recommended. I’m sure your poor guy won’t tell you about it.
