Excellent Product
I bought this and installed on my wife's 2014 BMW X1. It fit well and looked and function much better than the original plastic one that cracked in several places. The part seem to hold up well. It has been over 3 years and over 30K miles and there does not appear to be any problems. The only issue that I had was that I could not use the supplied bolts as they were too short. I took a chance and reused the old aluminum ones and so far so good. Because of this, I purchased another one from the same maker for my daughter's BMW X1 Xdrive35i (6cyl). That one seem to function well too. I needed to replaced her valve cover because of the leaking pcv valve which is a very common problem.

A chance to change to aluminum and get a great fit and functional product
Have had this valve cover on for about 3 months now without any problems. It fit very well and install was a breeze. The gasket fit and formed well. The hardware that was provided is nice and also fit well,(very well coated so it won’t corrode easy). It definitely adds to the look of the engine with the bright silver coating. The coating is also very smooth but very tough and does not scratch easily. So far, so good! I was not sure how this was going to turn out as far as the fit due to an aftermarket aluminum part vs the factory composite part so I took a chance and tried it. I have used this brand of aluminum products on other vehicles such as oil filter housings and have not had any problems whatsoever so far. I would recommend using this brand as a replacement for the plastic valve covers and oil filter housings as aluminum does not crack easily, last longer,( if not forever) on vehicles. Aluminum is definitely the way to go rather than the composite,( plastic) components due to the way it withstands heat allot better than plastic. The trick is to find something that will fit like the factory part and last longer without spending a fortune. This in my opinion is it.

Pcv Diaphragm cap nipple hose
Everything was perfect it was a long process but was able to get everything nicely seated. The only thing I want to make I handle is that there is one small hose that usually attaches onto the pcv diaphragm cap but with this new cover there is no nipple for the hose to fit on. Is there another spot for it? I saw another comment with it connected and it looked like they found another attachment cap for it any help? The first picture is the oem cover and than the second is the new one.

Fitment is perfect, beware of PCV/codes.
I’m giving it a 4 stars because the fitment is perfect and it is way better than the crack-prone plastic OEM cover - However, I started having a “fuel mixture Too Rich” code after installing this. Hard to say if the PCV system is causing it or not because I also replaced the turbo at the same time, but I did not have the issue beforehand and I have heard generic valve covers can cause it. So at the price point, I think it’s definitely worth a shot because fitment was great and the car runs with no leaks. It looks amazing too. But just remember you are taking a chance versus other name brands. If I can go back, I would try to run it before changing the turbo to see if it caused the too rich code.

Overall good cover with a few caveats
Overall good replacement with a few caveats. Would use again and is good for the price. Pros: -Aluminum - much better than the cheap plastic OEM valve cover -Fair price -Almost everything lined up great -The seals and mounting hardware seem to be very good quality Looks great Cons: -Finish is mid. I had to gently hit the mating surfaces with a scouring pad to remove some flashing left over from mfg. Highly recommend doing this before install. Be careful not to remove too much. -Casting in non-critical areas is a bit crude -I initially did not scour the mating surface for the oil cap and it leaked considerably. After scouring it too it seems to be good. -The one thing that didn’t line up was the knobs for the engine cover so it’s stretched to fit now. After 60 miles there appear to be no leaks whatsoever and it’s a much better cover than the OEM. I would do again, but be aware to inspect it thoroughly before install and clean up any QC errors that could cause issues. Beware this is a very long install so you want to get it right the first time. Side note: my car is an N26 but this cover works for it. You only need to order a replacement N26 PCV valve and swap it for what comes pre-installed in this kit.

2015 BMW X1 E84 - N26 engine - worked perfectly
This worked perfectly for my 2015 BMW x1 with the 2.0 engine. There were some raised spots on the mating surface around some of the bolt holes that I didnt like the look off so I filed them down. Not sure if they were casting defects or what... I am unsure if they would have been a problem or not, but I didnt want to take any chance. Also I ended up using my own hardware for the 2 cam actuators on the front of the valve cover. not 100% if it was in the bag or not.

Much better than the plastic alternative!
Ordered the parts and took it to my mechanic to install. He mentioned this was better than any other plastic alternatives. Would order again but hoping it never comes to that.
