I installed this filter last week and my tds reader showed a 016 for at least 5 days, now it reads 022 and seems to be growing in numbers. why??!

The efficacy and longevity of any filtration element -- including the membrane -- is subjective according to your local water quality.

It's possible that you got a defective membrane, but my personal experience with these is that it starts off with super low TDS when freshly installed, and then TDS gradually increases for a little while until it levels-off. If you're going to watch the numbers: always compare to your pre-filter readings, because you should be looking at the relative decrease in TDS and not the seeking same numbers as someone else using this product in a completely different location. I've had the same membrane (from this manufacturer) for almost 3 years now, and -- while it did start at 12 -- it's been holding at around 40 for a while, which is still 90% or more lower than straight out of the tap.

Can I buy this for the ispring 6 stage? I know some filters dont need replacing for a while. Will this be okay?

Yes, this set has Stage 1, 2, 3, and 5.  It does not have Stage 5, the alkaline mineral filter, and Stage 4, the membrane.  The correct 1-year package for RCC7AK is F9K.  Please search on Amazon.com for "ISPRING RCC7AK replacement filter pack".

I take that back, they're the same filters as shown for the (#FP15, #FG15, #FC15 and #FT15) iSpring 400 GPD other than this set is missing the #MC2 filter (which is only replaced once every two years). Wow, these are priced at about 15% of what they charge for the ones sold for the iSpring 400 GPD.
