Review: Overall a good & informative read - If your trying to learn about this subject for the first time then this is a good starter book. Goes into a wide variety of subjects on a surface level but doesnโt get very deep on any one subject. So again, Iโd recommend only buying & reading if your new to the subject and wanting to get a good start at it. Review: BEST Adult Dyslexia Guide Ever! - I was fortunate enough to be given an advanced review copy of Ms. Petersonโs โGuide,โ and so grateful I was! I was incredibly impressed with her work. Here is what it WAS: - succinct; - comprehensible; - practical; - warm and understanding in tone; and above all, - encouraging! And here is what it was NOT: - dry; - condescending; - elitist (in an academic way); - interminable; and most importantly, - boring! Ms. Peterson offers sensible, helpful strategies and tools for managing this part of oneself and helps us to see the strengths people with dyslexia have. Using these newfound skills one can gain confidence and thus be more successful in both oneโs personal and professional lives. She begins and ends on a positive note and is convinced each reader can become better acquainted with dyslexia vis-ร -vis him or herself and use this newly-gained knowledge to his/her advantage. I am convinced THIS is the โgo-toโ Dyslexia Guide for Adults, and certainly THE one for which they have been searching and praying! Truly. Donโt walk - RUN and order it now - for yourself or someone you know and love. You (and they!) will be so pleased you did!

Great guide but I felt extremely frustrated that about half of the book talks about self-compassion and building self-worth when I am reading to learn how to read better. If you just want to skillbuild to help your reading, skip to chapter 4.

Excellent book for professionals and adults with Dyslexia!
There are many books written about Dyslexia, but very few that focus on adults with Dyslexia. This excellent book is a must for adults and teens who have a diagnosis of Dyslexia or suspect they might have Dyslexia, as well as those who live, love or work with them. The author demystifies Dyslexia with clarity and compassion, identifies the challenges and gifts of Dyslexia, and provides useable tools to improve skills and achieve success. In addition, it is a valuable resource for professionals who work with individuals with Dyslexia, and I know I will make good use of the information in my educational therapy practice for a long, long time.

Clear Informative Recourse for Adults with Dyslexia
As a dyslexic adult who has ADHD too, this book is easy to read, clearly set up, and incredibly informative. I am so glad I bought it for myself and the students I work with! I so appreciate that social anxiety and connectiveness are talked about as well. Each detail that is important to being fully supported as a person with dyslexia is gon though and discussed!

Refocusing Dyslexia to the Adult Dyslexic
Having spent my professional life in schools for specific language differences, this book demystifies Dyslexia while proceeding to focus on Dyslexia in the adult instead of the child. With clear and easy to grasp supports, suggestions and insights into what Dyslexia means to a person who has it, Marci Peterson gives hope and confidence to those who for so long were ignored or invisible in the learning disability community.

This is a "must read" for anyone who is, or knows, a person with dyslexia.
The Dyslexia Guide for Adults:..is full of compassion and positivity, while being exceptionally informative and oh so readable! As an educational therapist, who works with many dyslexics, I know this book (I had access to an advanced review copy) will become a well-used reference source in my practice. I look forward to recommending this book to my clients' families.
