LEGO Power Functions Train Motor 88002

Lego is some of the best manufacturing quality in the world and they stand by their products. This was installed on a Christmas train set and it works so well! Had I have known that I would need to buy an IR sensor and a remote for this I would have been happier but this item works very well. The speeds can get insanely fast (if you don't have controls in place) and I was very pleased with this purchase.

A kid's review: This is a motor specifically designed for the Lego Winter Holiday Train (Which I have.). I don't know if it works with other Lego trains, as this is the only one I have. You remove the original chassis (including the rear wheels), remove various parts from the top of the chassis (See set instructions for more details on that.), remove the train wheels, and install the included Technic cross beams into the cross shaped holes on the motor. Install the wheels and the various parts. Install the motor on the locomotive. Feed the wires through the hole in the bottom of the cab. Wrap the wires around the little hook in the cab above the control panel printed element. Attach to the battery box on the tender. Great product.

Works fine but didnt realize you need 3 other parts to use this for a train. You still need the battery pack and optional 2 remote pieces

My grandson has been using this product to build multiple different Lego items that he motorizes and shows me as he has them moving. May purchase this item again.

Outstanding, i installed this into my homemade locomotive, which i designed to be very compact but functional, and it is running well. Now i just need enough tracks for it to run on!!!

This was a fantastic addition to our LEGO Christmas Village Train set. It was very simple to assemble and my son and I had a great time doing it. The motor runs surprisingly fast but is fully adjustable with speed control and forward and reverse capability. Overall it was a great buy and a lot of fun.

My kid struggled to get this working.

Ordered to give as a gift to my adult son. He is a lego AND a train lover, so it was the perfect combination. He really liked the motor and quickly built a train to use it. Last I saw him, he was running it around the tree!

Works very well but runs too fast on the 9V so dropped it to 4.5V and perfect..
