I usually hold off on reviews until I’ve used something for a while, but this one got me right out of the box. The packaging is surprisingly nice, wrapped in branded tissue paper that makes it feel like a step above the usual stuff. The mat itself is true to color (I got black). Normcore’s mat is thick and solid, good food-grade silicone with zero plastic smell. It’s heavy enough to protect the counter from hard tamping, and the bottom has real grip so it doesn’t slide around. It’s smaller than some of the bigger mats out there, but it fits my spot perfectly and still gives plenty of room for the portafilter and tamper. You can find cheaper options, but this one just looks and feels better made. If you’re thinking about picking one up for your setup, I’d say go for it. No complaints here. I hope this helps!

This is a great tamping mat. I like that it's flat with a slight texture and love the turndown at the leading edge that helps keep it in place and protects the edge of the countertop. It's held up superbly. I've had it for two years, and it's still in new condition.

Thick, high quality silicone. Easy to clean and works well for its purpose. A little spendy compared to similar offerings but nothing egregiously so. I’d recommend it. It looks great on the counter too, even in my old duplex. I love the subtle textured surface and that it has a moderately sized lip that overhangs.

I use this mat as a drink mat. Fits well in my coffee bar and does not slide around. Very good quality and easy to clean and wipe off
