I was wondering if these would work for face painting

Yes. That is the only reason I purchased them. They work great. My childcare kids paint my face with them ALL the time and I paint theirs, too. They work just as good as the super expensive professional watercolor pencils I used for face painting (and replaced with this set). I really like the grippy part more than I expected....it's great. :)

Does this come with a free paintbrush as advertised on the box?
