This unit is absolutely great; once you understand it and 'adjusts it'.
Hello! Bought it about a year ago now (July 12, 2021, now it's July 2022) but did not use it until about three months ago, because we had to leave for a month. So, we programed it very basically: 10 minutes every 24 hours one outlet, and three minutes every 24 hours the second outlet. Well, after a month, plants were in perfect shape; so, success (refused to work for the last few days due to weak batteries, but worked Ok while it could). What makes it so great are the programming capabilites it has and the simplicity. But you have to figure them out; with fresh batteries: With the outlet reset and in zero minutes, turn to ON and it will open that outlet until you turn it off. That is (and remaining instructions) for each outlet, independently. With outlet reset and in zero minutes, turn the duration to a desired one (let's say three minutes); it will open and will keep opened for the duration selected, and then will close. With outlet reset and in zero minutes, turn cycling to the desired value (let's say every 24 hours) and then set duration to the desired value (let's say 10 minutes); nothing will happen until 24 hours later (the desired cycling) when it will open for 10 minutes (the set duration), and it will repeat every 24 hours, as set. But, what if you want to open the outlet immediately? Well, you will set the cycling and the duration, AND will turn cycling back to rest without changing duration, and it will open at once (well, it will take a second or two, while it figures out what do you want) and will close after duration; at that moment set the cycling again. The draw back is that you have to be there, for the first duration to set the cycling back again. We're pretty sure that if you set the duration and after that duration you set the cycling, it will work Ok, but we didn't test that specifically (we just did it today, let's see what happens tomorrow). So, there is no clock to set; just reset it and it will cycle as selected. Some people hate this, but I like it not to have to set a clock, this makes the unit cheaper, and works flawlessly. The second thing people don't like is that you have to set the unit up at the time you want it to work (if it is at 3 o'clock in the early day, well, you have to be there at that time). But we set it for 8:00am, so we are very happy with that. At the end, it's cheap, and it's simple, without the hassle of setting up a clock. The LED: Slow blinking (about every four seconds), batteries are Ok; faster blinking, batteries need replacement and unit will not work at all. 'Adjustment': Well, it filled with water, even that it was covered; so, the water 'came from inside'. It happens that it leaks internally, through the valve actuators. We had to open the unit to find out the motors submerged and corroded. We cleaned it the best we could, and tightened the screws holding the valve actuators, and it seems it's working OK now. Anyway, we made some perforations to allow the water to come out, if that flooding happens again. If you are going to drill, be clear that it will void any warranty (that we never though of anyway) and make sure you do not drill the water channels. If you are going to do it, do it at your own risk, we assume no responsibility at all. We think that the unit did not last the whole month we were out, probably because of the flooding and not necessarily because of use. Why five stars then? Well, we like how it works, plants look good, it was not expensive, and we think we overcame its deficiencies. Extra: We connected it a 3.2 battery from one of our yard solar cheap lighting system, and we hope the unit will not complaint on battery power any more, it is covered anyway. Final thoughts: This is what we think you can do on your own risk and forgetting about the warranty: Buy it, open it (take the four buttons out, carefully peel off the decal, and unscrew), tighten the valve actuator screws, consider drilling a very small holes at each of the valves sides without drilling the water channels, close it, put decal back, put buttons back, and enjoy it. Remember, do it at your own risk. Best regards Update 04/27/2023: We broke it accidentally and just bought the same one again. We will immediately apply the latest recommendation on our previous review. We are confident it will work great. Best regards

Reliable and straight forward - but maybe weird to some
These are really great dual port watering timers. The only strange attribute may be the absence of an actual time “clock” for setting them. You can always use them manually - instantly water for a set programmed period - by turning the associated port’s knob to “reset”. Then the other knob will control the time “on”. The weird thing (for me) was the way you set the “re-occurrence” interval, since they use no internal clock. Its not really complicated - just different. When you set the occurrence interval up that first time, it begins its time by marking it from that first input. Meaning it will NOT turn on until timing out that first cycle of the interval - which means that your first time ON, will be delayed by that amount. So as long as you realize you use the “reset” to water immediate needs - then set the “interval times” to program the NEXT and reoccurring watering periods - Its a great no- hassle timer. Of course - it may cause you to have to get up early or go outside late at night - to time your watering at specific times - but it has some nice features. The ports are deeply threaded, so you are less likely to cross thread connectors. It has a flip up see-through cover/door - protecting its display/controls. The knobs are clearly labeled and it gives a wide selection of time/intervals. The battery compartment is well placed and it includes rubber washers and a filter screen. Depite not having an internal time clock, (who really needs another clock to set) this unit is simple to use and gives easy fast response to manual intervention for quick interrupt watering. Quick connect couplers are not included, but rarely are with such. I purchased a pair - and quickly they became my favs - replacing the Gilmours I had due to how simppe and fast EITHER port can be used manually with no interruption or issues experienced with the timing I have set up. They are straight forward. No confusion or complexity on acvount of it having 2 ports. I believe they are the best choice at this price point.

Timer worked for 2 months, collar only lasted three. Buy a different brand. Poor design. Failed.
This didn't even last half of a summer. Poorly designed product. After two months of it working, at the next (weekly!! weekly!!) battery change, the timer will no longer "take" or "remember" its settings if watering duration is less than one hour, even if setting all back to zero and attempting to re-set it after a battery change. This thing eats batteries. With new AAs, I would get the low battery indicator within 5 days of changing them, so it goes through nearly half a AA battery per day. Worst of all, the grey plastic swivel collar at the top has an internal plastic shoulder at a very thin point, and after a couple months of cycles, the water pressure on the collar caused it to completely separate and crack off of the unit. This was in a shaded location away from UV damage to unit. Terrible product. Do not buy. Using it as a 25 minute timer worked for sixty days as long as batteries were replaced at least once a week. Then it was just a hose ornament for one more month until turning on/off an adjacent hose caused change in water pressure and then the plastic connector exploded off of the timer and it was cracked beyond all repair. Awful.

Great water timer. Read my review for small fixes.
The timer works great exactly as described.I bought 2 of them, to keep new grass see on one side of my house watered and on the other side I have new sod down and needed to keep that watered as well. I had a grub worm issue so I had to replace a lot of grass. Anyway back to the timers. I did note that as some have said with the adapter that connect to the spigot, it can leak if touch or moved. This was a easy fix by using teflon plumbers tape on the threads of all connections, I now have no leaks at all even if the timer is turned slightly to adjust. I have been using for 3 weeks now and have not had any issue, it turns on when it should stops when it should, the battery compartment is secure and all is going well. I don't know what else you could want, if you know what you are buying. If you want a fancier system with telling it which day and rain sensing etc... You need to buy a more expensive system. But if you just need a timer to run your sprinklers to water your lawn or garden and or to get your seed or sod off to a good star this timer is great. Hope this helps.

love and hate
I absolutely love the simplicity of use - best out there, yet, would not purchase again. As others have said, it leaks into the battery compartment - rusting everything and shutting down the system. Took the battery holder out and duct taped it to the side to keep it out of the water

Best option for hot climates with a lot of direct sun.
After buying two different Melnor digital types (one w/bluetooth and app to control times and schedule, and one with LCD display that got baked in two hot Phoenix, AZ summer months), I'd recommend this one as it has outlasted the other two. Still not a fan of plastic outlets, however, good luck finding brass ones on a multi-valve water timer. Easy to use and program. The Melnor types were more costly, heavier by weight, but whose outlet valves cracked after a couple of hot months in PHX, AZ summer, thus rendering useless from leakage and inability to repair as they were one-piece ABS molds, meaning that when they crack, that's the end of their life. Save your dollars, go analog.
