All I know about these filter specs is this: Micron rating (nominal): 5Contaminant removal: chlorine, sand, sediment, rust, soil, and silt.The GE FXWTC replaces models fit these water systems: GXWH01C, GXWH04F, GXWH08C, and GXWH20FI hope this helps.

Can this replace the GXWH20F (not S) filter?

The short answer is yes. Any filters you see listed as 10" x 2 1/2", are actually 9 3/4" x 2 1/2". Any brand of whole house water filter system that uses standard 9 3/4" x 2 1/2" filter cartridges can use the GE FXWTC Filter, or any other filter made to fit in a standard 10" x 2 1/2" housing. The GXWH20F filter is 9 3/4" x 2 1/2", and the GE FXWTC is also 9 3/4" x 2 1/2". The occasional difference in height makes very little difference, considering the filters can vary somewhat in size from batch to batch, even within the same model number.I have used both of these filter cartridges (and many others) in my Omnifilter Complete Household Water Filtration System, and all fit well.

We Buy These Filters Regularly

These filters are great for sediment control and for removing some of the chlorine taste, but they are mainly for removing sediment in our home. We rely on our Brondell filter system to remove the chlorine and other contaminants. These carbon filters are used as a first line of defense where our main water supply comes into the house. Highly recommend these filters.

Good replacement filter for whole house filter

These were very good filters for a nice price. It is good that they are pretty much standardized in size. I have an ACO Hardware whole house filter that isn't sold anymore. Good thing it takes standard filters, and these did the job and they were a very fair price. I purchased 3 twin packs of these to make sure I had a lot of spares on hand.
