Instructions in Japanese but you can download the English version Online for the U.S. made version.

Is there a way to increase the brightness? I can bairly read the thing! The picture shows it as bright, but it is nothing like that in person.

No Brightness control. Negative displays are typically harder to read than positive display screens.
