Help tremendously with itchy scalp
Love the quality. Really helpful with many scalp issues. Helps within 1-2 washing. Very think. I water it down a bit.

I've tried every shampoo for Eczema
I've tried pretty much every shampoo for Eczema and dry scalp. The only one that seemed to work was a particular brand of coal tar, that isn't being made anymore. My eczema is particularly bad in the summer. I searched online, and while I get the benefits of using all natural products, my experience is that they don't usually work as well as the chemical stuff (I know, horrible to say). So anyway, I decided to try it and when this stuff arrived I noticed that it said it works as an insect deterrent as well (WHAT?!). We have a camper so I packed it up and figured if it doesn't work for eczema, it can be my camp shampoo anyway... First time I used it I was having a hard time w eczema scalp (did I mention I didn't expect a lot)... First, the smell is amazing to me. I see all of the comments saying that it stinks. It smells like campfire, and I love it. It felt great, and I had to check the label to see if it was shampoo & conditioner, because that's how it felt. It wasn't, and actually I hated to use conditioner over the top of my campfire smell lol. But I did. I have thick, mangley, curly brown hair. It wasn't curly all my life and most of the time I just look like a cave lady because I don't know what to do with it. Every hairdresser straightens it, even though I tell them I'm not going to do that. I put in a little bit of coconut/Shea butter creme after using this shampoo and before I went to bed. When I woke up the next morning, my curls were soft, my eczema was already minimal (shocking!) and I didn't have to sign my hair down before going outside. So, I'm not kidding when I tell you that this stuff works. If you have course/dry hair, eczema on your scalp, or just like campfire smells... Get it. You will not regret it. As far as the insect deterrent, I can't really say if it helps because I use a conditioner over it, but if you're a dude I'd try it.

Smells like Pine and Campfire
Worked on keeping my scalp from breaking out into scabs. However was so happy when it was gone because it smells piney yes but also smells like you went to a campfire as well that really rubbed me the wrong way. I’m using some great coal tar shampoo now that works just as well but with a clean scent rather than pine and firewood.

Not my favorite pine tar shampoo.
Meh. It’s not my favorite pine tar shampoo. I’ve also tried the grandad’s pine tar and that one is less drying on my hair strands and works just as well for my scalp flaking. The scent is more mild than the grandad’s shampoo. I’d return this bottle but I’ve already used it a few times.

This stuff lathers really nicely. If you've got hard water from your shower, I suggest this shampoo. The effects on your hair are very nice as well. I have a dry scalp usually, and this prevents that, and leaves my hair nice and silky soft. My dry scalp is gone. The scent is a kind of smoky pine, but it does not linger in your hair. When using it, the scent isn't subtle, but don't worry about smelling like pine all day (nothing wrong with that anyway).

Good , but small bottle looking a price

Effective at the right price. Nice smell and 100% effective like a regular tar shampoo. A healthier option. I have a very difficult scalp condition and I use it in combination with another anti itching shampoo. I highly recommend it.

I was looking for a coal tar alternative and while this is not quite the same it did provide some relief. I saw other reviews saying it smelled like cigarettes and those are so wrong; there's a huge difference between cigarettes and a campfire and THIS smells like you've been sitting around a campfire all night. Once your hair is dry it's not detectable at all but I wanted to leave a review to correct this mischaracterization.
