Can I use this material to recover the boat trailer side rails?

We used it to cover the rails that the boat sits on and also the rails on the side that guide the boat in, the ones that are at higher.

Will these cover a 2 x 6 and meet on the back side to completely cover the wood? My side rails on my trailer are 2x6 all other are 2x4

A 2x 6 has a perimeter of 14", a 12" wide carpet will not meet on the back side.

How many ounces is this carpet?

This is what I used to replace my bunk boards and used this carpet. I can't tell you how many ounces but after doing it a few times it is the same as the more expensive carpet and cut straight and not short. I have this saved and it is the only carpeti will use if I ever do it again highly recommend it

Stapled well, feels good & good quality, easy to install, didn’t interfere with me installing it on the trailer or wood, not sticky, fit well & had plenty of it left over, completely wrapped the wood, not too thick & not too thin.
